Shutting The Heavens

Elias, Severe Drought is a 5 Faith Prophet Being from the Wrath Age, with 5 Strength and 4 Hope, and a powerful Resurrect ability: when exiled, he deals 2 damage to all beings. This global effect makes Elias a prime tool for disrupting wide boards, setting up mass removal, and turning the tide against aggressive or midrange strategies.

The Witness of Elias

In the first half of the seven-year covenant, Elias (Elijah) will stand in Jerusalem with Moses, declaring with unshakable boldness that Jesus is the Messiah of Israel. Their mission will pierce the hardened hearts of a nation deceived by a false covenant, urging them to repent and turn to the One who fulfilled the Law and the Prophets. Elias will shut the heavens, and the skies will withhold rain, a sign echoing his days on Mount Carmel, where he stood alone against the prophets of Baal. Every act, every word, will bear witness to the glory of the living God.

Elias is one of the two candlesticks and two olive branches standing before the God of the earth because his ministry was a call to choose, to stand on the side of the Lord without compromise. In his first coming, he confronted the idolatry of Israel. In his return, he will confront the ultimate rebellion of mankind, pointing to Jesus as the only way, the truth, and the life. The olive branch represents the flow of the Spirit’s power through him, feeding the flame of God’s truth in a time of great spiritual darkness.

"These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: [...]"

Together, Elijah and Moses will lead the 144,000 Jewish witnesses, 12,000 from every tribe, sealed from God and redeemed of the Earth. They will declare the soon-coming reign of Christ. Signs and wonders will confirm their words, just as the plagues of Egypt and the drought of Israel once testified of God’s unmatched authority. The world will rage, but their testimony will be unshakable, for the power of heaven will be with them.

Judgment, Glory, and Resurrection

Elias will unleash drought across the earth for the entire length of his ministry, and with Moses, they will smite the earth with plagues whenever they will. These judgments will reveal the vanity of man’s strength, showing that the Creator controls the elements and the destiny of nations. Every drop of withheld rain will proclaim the same truth Elijah declared to Ahab: "As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand" - 1 Kings 17:1.

At the midpoint of the covenant, their mission will reach its climax. The Man of Sin will have a fatal wound, and come back to life as the Son of perdition, empowered by the beast from the bottomless pit, and will slay them in the streets of Jerusalem. The nations will celebrate, their rebellion swelling in arrogance. But after three and a half days, the breath of life from God will enter them, and they will rise, ascending into heaven before the eyes of the world. This will be a divine announcement that the reign of Christ is near, and the kingdom of the beast is doomed.

Believer, this time will not be ours to face. We are in the age of grace, where righteousness is given through faith in Christ apart from works of the law. As Paul declared, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God" - Ephesians 2:8. You are already sealed with the Holy Spirit, already made complete in Him, already seated in heavenly places in Christ. We will be with our Bridegroom when Elijah walks the streets of Jerusalem again, and we will rejoice in the perfect plan of God unfolding before the world. Our hope is sure, our salvation is eternal, and our victory is already won in Jesus Christ.
