God chooses Abraham’s descendants and turns them into a mighty nation. But His grace isn't enough for them. They want direction and to know what they must do to walk with Him.
So God gives them the Law, also known as the Torah. A covenant carved in stone and sealed in blood.
This time is wild. Miracles explode, rebellion rises, and mercy flows. It’s where God reveals His justice, His holiness, and His heart like never before.
Deliverance From Egypt
God Raises Moses To Set His People Free!
But before that, it all starts in chains. Israel is trapped in Egypt, groaning under the weight of slavery. For many years, they've cried out. And God hears.
He raises Moses, and he stands before Pharaoh with fire in his voice: “Let My people go!” With a hardened heart, Pharaoh says no. So God says, “Watch this.” Ten plagues fall.
Each one crushes Egypt’s idols. And the last one, the death of the firstborn, breaks Pharaoh. But for God’s people, there’s a way of escape...
The First Passover
The Blood Of The Lamb Brings Salvation!
That same day, God gives instructions. Each household sacrifices a lamb. They paint the doorposts with its blood. That night, the angel of death sweeps through Egypt.
But every door covered in blood? Safe. That’s Passover. That’s protection. And it’s a preview of Jesus, the true Lamb of God, whose blood saves us forever.
After this, Pharaoh breaks. Israel walks free. And in one of the biggest miracles ever, they cross the Red Sea on dry ground.
The Giving Of The Law
God’s Divine Standard For His People!
God leads them to Mount Sinai. The mountain shakes, fire blazes, thunder rolls. And then, God speaks.
He gives the Law. The Ten Commandments. 613 instructions. Not just rules, but reflections of His holiness.
The people say, “We’ll follow everything!” But here’s the catch: they can’t. Not perfectly. And God knows it.
Animal Blood Sacrifices
God Provides A Way To Cover Sins!
So God makes a way. He tells them to build the Tabernacle, a sacred space where His presence shows up.
Inside sits the Ark of the Covenant. When someone sins, they bring an animal. Blood is spilled. A sacrifice takes its place.
Why? Because without blood, there’s no forgiveness. Every sacrifice is a living prophecy, pointing straight to Jesus, the perfect Lamb who takes away sin for good.
Journey In The Wilderness
A Generation That Refused To Trust God!
Even after everything, Israel doubts. They whine about food. Worship a golden calf. Refuse to enter the Promised Land.
So God says, “Okay. You won't enter.” And for 40 years, they circle the desert. But even in their failure, He stays faithful.
He drops manna from heaven. Bring water from a rock. Leads with cloud and fire. They blow it, but God doesn’t quit.
The Torah And Jesus
The Law Was Leading To Something Better!
The Torah Era is full of laws, sacrifices, and human weakness. But that’s the point. The Law can’t save. It exposes the need for a Savior.
They wait for a better covenant, a High Priest who never fails, and a final sacrifice. And that’s exactly who Jesus is. Every time they fail, every time blood is spilled, it shouts the same truth: we need Jesus.
