How to Play Bible TCG
Learn The Game In A Few Minutes!
You don't need to understand every rule, Keyword, card, or strategy before Playing your first Game.
The basic idea is simple: build Faith, Play Verses, Create Beings across your Storyline, and use them to fight through your Opponent's position.
Learn the few systems below and you'll understand enough to start seeing how everything fits together.

The Goal
Be The First To Reach 20 Bible Points!
Your main goal is to become the first Player to reach 20 Bible Points.
The primary way to gain them is by getting one of your Beings through your Opponent's Storyline and Challenging your Opponent directly. When that happens, you gain Bible Points equal to that Being's Strength.
There's another way to lose as well: if you ever need to Draw a Verse while your Bible is empty, you lose the Game.
Your Bible
Your Deck Becomes Your Bible!
In Classic, each Player brings an 80-Verse Deck, made from a 66-Verse Main Deck and a 14-Verse Side Deck.
At the beginning of a Game, shuffle your 66-Verse Main Deck. That face-down stack now becomes your Bible, and it's where you'll Draw your Verses throughout the Game.
You begin with seven Verses in your Hand, giving you your first choices for building Faith and beginning your strategy.

Two Kinds Of Verses
Beings Stay. Events Happen!
Every card in the Game is called a Verse, and there are two main types: Being Verses and Event Verses.
Play a Being Verse and it becomes a Being on your Storyline, where it can remain across Turns, Move, Challenge, Block, take Damage, and use its Abilities.
Play an Event Verse and its Ability happens once. After the Event finishes resolving, the Verse normally goes to Exile.
Your Storyline
Five Slots, Every Position Matters!
Each Player has a Storyline containing five Slots, and each Slot can normally hold one Being.
This is where your Beings are Created, Move, Challenge, Block, take Damage, and interact with the opposing Storyline.
Position matters. Where a Being stands can determine what it can Challenge, what it Blocks, where it can Move, and how its Abilities interact with the Beings around it.

Faith
Turn Verses Into Your Resource!
Faith is the resource you use to Play Verses.
During your Play Phase, you may normally take one Verse from your Hand and place it into your Faith Area. It becomes a Faith Verse that can be used to pay the Costs of the cards you want to Play.
Faith isn't spent permanently. Used Faith remains in your Faith Area and becomes available again at the beginning of your next Turn, allowing your resources to grow as the Game continues.
Play Your Verses
Build The Storyline!
To Play a Being Verse, pay its Faith Cost and Create it in an open Slot on your Storyline.
A newly Created Being normally can't Move or Challenge immediately, so your Opponent gets an opportunity to respond before it begins Interacting on a later Turn.
Events work differently: pay their Cost, resolve the Ability written on the Verse, and then normally place that Event in Exile.

Strength And Hope
Deal Damage. Survive Damage!
Beings have Stats that determine what they can do, with Strength and Hope being two of the most important.
Strength tells you how much Damage a Being deals. Hope determines how much Damage it can withstand before it's Exiled from the Storyline.
Damage stays on a Being instead of disappearing at the end of the Turn, so surviving one battle can still leave a Being vulnerable later.
Challenge
Fight For The Storyline!
When your Being Challenges an Enemy Being it can Reach, the two Beings deal Damage to each other simultaneously equal to their Strength.
Their Hope and existing Damage determine what survives. A Being whose Current Hope reaches 0 or less is Exiled from the Storyline.
Winning those battles can clear positions, weaken your Opponent's defenses, and create openings for the direct Challenges that earn Bible Points.

Reach And Blocking
Find A Path To Your Opponent!
Beings can't simply attack anything on the Board. Reach determines which positions a Being can Challenge from its current Slot.
Blocking also protects Players. If an Enemy Being is directly across from one of your Beings, that Enemy Being is Blocking it and prevents it from Challenging the Opponent directly from that position.
That means positioning becomes part of combat: fight through a Blocker, remove it with an Ability, Move into another position, or find another opening toward your Opponent.
Your Turn
Reset, Draw, Play, And End!
Every Turn follows the same basic structure: Start Of Turn, then the Draw Step, then the Play Phase, and lastly the End Of Turn.
At the beginning of your Turn, used Faith becomes available and Beings that Interacted become Ready again. Then you normally Draw one Verse.
Your Play Phase is where everything comes together: build Faith, Play Events, Create Beings, Move, Challenge, and use Abilities in whatever legal order best supports your strategy.

Abilities And Mechanics
Every Verse Can Change The Game!
Many Verses contain Abilities that give them effects beyond their basic Stats.
Some trigger when a Being is Created, some happen when particular conditions occur, and others remain active while the Being stays on the Storyline.
You'll also encounter Keywords such as Prophecy, Zeal, Protect, Darkness, and Discern. You don't need to memorize them before Playing—many cards include Reminder Text, and the Mechanics page explains each Keyword individually.
What A Game Feels Like
Build, Battle, And Break Through!
Early Turns usually begin with Players placing Verses into Faith and establishing their first Beings across the Storyline.
As the Board grows, you'll decide whether to defend your position, Challenge Enemy Beings, reposition through Movement, use Events and Abilities, or push toward an opening for a direct Challenge.
More Faith means bigger possibilities. The rules give you the structure, but the strategy comes from deciding what to Play, where to place it, when to attack, and when to wait.

That's Enough To Start
The Rest Comes From Playing!
Build Faith. Create Beings. Play Events. Move across your Storyline. Challenge Enemy Beings. Break through their defenses and reach 20 Bible Points.
You don't need to know every Keyword, interaction, or advanced ruling before your first Game. Those details become much easier to understand once you've watched the basic systems work together.
When you're ready, jump into Online, use a Starter Deck, or continue into the complete How To Play section of the Ultimate Guide.
