Cast Out Into The Earth
Great Red Dragon is a 7 Faith Wrath Age Dragon with 6 Strength and 8 Hope. Its ability triggers at the start and end of your turns, dealing 2 damage to all other beings and players, a true board-clearing, life-draining force. This card stands as one of the most devastating finishers in the game, combining relentless area-of-effect pressure with direct player damage, demanding attention from your opponent or delivering defeat.
The Fall of the Great Dragon
In the midst of the 7 year tribulation’s fury, heaven’s war will spill into the earth. The great red dragon, the ancient serpent, the adversary of all that is holy, will be cast down from the heavenly realms. His time will be short, his rage unmatched, and his deception will sweep through the nations like wildfire. This is not a shadow or mere symbol, this is a living, manifest presence of Satan, a being seen, heard, and worshipped by the lost world.
The dragon’s fall will shake the earth’s kingdoms. Men will marvel at his power, his voice, his signs, and his dominion. The nations will bow, declaring allegiance to the one who promises strength without righteousness, freedom without truth, and glory without God. They will choose the ancient rebellion over the eternal kingdom, just as the kings of old worshipped idols of wood and stone. But here, the idol will speak and command the loyalty of multitudes.
This card's verse is Revelation 12:9:
"And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, [...]"
This moment echoes the prophecy given in Eden, where the Lord God declared to the serpent, "It shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel" - Genesis 3:15. The dragon’s descent is the bruising of the heel, the final strike of Satan before his destruction. Yet every movement of this ancient enemy only fulfills the perfect plan of God. His fury will pave the way for his defeat, his rise will lead to his ruin, and the Lamb will triumph.

The Dragon’s Dominion on Earth
Once cast down, the great dragon will give his throne, his authority, and his seat to the beast. This unholy transfer of power will unite the kingdoms of darkness under one banner, and the worship of the dragon will become global law. The signs will be overwhelming, the seduction irresistible to those who do not know the truth. The rulers of the earth will bend the knee, and the merchants will trade in his name, while the false prophet calls down fire from heaven to seal the deception.
The prophets saw this day in visions, Daniel saw the beasts, Isaiah saw the fall of Lucifer, Ezekiel saw the lament over the covering cherub. All point to this final unveiling, when the one who was once clothed in beauty will be revealed as the destroyer of nations. And yet, in all his power and splendor, his days will be numbered. His roar will echo, but it will fade. His kingdom will burn, but the kingdom of our God will stand forever.
Believer, the dragon’s wrath is not our portion. We are redeemed by the blood of Christ, delivered from the power of darkness, and translated into the kingdom of His dear Son. Our hope is anchored in the risen Jesus, our life is hidden with Him, and our victory is secured by His finished work. We are sealed with the Holy Spirit, called to glory, and destined to reign with Him. The dragon may be worshipped by the world for a season, but we worship the Lamb for all eternity.
Strategic Use In Gameplay
In any late-game scenario where board control has been establishing your dominance, Great Red Dragon drastically shifts the battlefield. Its dual-phase area-of-effect ability ensures opponents either eliminate it quickly, risking their own board, or suffer irreversible damage drift. Beyond clearing enemy beings, it chips away at the opponents directly, synergizing beautifully with decks that aim to grind through the game and exhaust their adversary’s resources. This makes it a linchpin in Wrath control lists and tempo-oriented builds seeking a powerful endgame presence.
Synergies and Plays:
Board Sweep Threat: With 2 area-of-effect hits per full turn, the Dragon systematically dismantles enemy boards and weakens remaining creatures, ensuring dominance.
Win Condition Pressure: The 8 Hope allows it to survive multiple turns, while its area-of-effect ability chips away at opponents for a 7–10-point swing each round.
Wrath Control Anchor: Fits seamlessly into decks that leverage exile, board clears, and control tools, acting as the heavy-hitter that forces decisive removal or collapse.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will the Dragon damage itself with its AOE effect?
A: No. The effect targets all other beings and players, meaning it does not harm itself, only opponents and their creatures.
Q: Can effects like Protect or Abundance stop the AOE damage?
A: Protect won’t apply because AOE damage bypasses being-targeted effects; however, Anointing can soak the first hit, giving the Dragon one free turn before damage applies normally.
Q: What's the best time to play Great Red Dragon?
A: Ideally on turn 7 or 8, when your opponent's board is developed but unable to eliminate it immediately.
