Nation Shall Not Lift Sword

Kingdom Come is a 3 Faith Event from the Power Age that offers a powerful upgrade mechanic by exchanging a friendly Being into a 4/4 Bride with Protect. This exchange makes the Bride a Challenging target, ensuring other beings a protected. The being that gets exchanged is removed from the game, where any resurrect ability would not trigger because it's not exiled.

The Dawn of His Reign

When the King returns, the earth will be a scarred battlefield. The nations will have spent themselves in war, the skies will have seen fire, and the soil will have drunk deeply of blood. Yet His arrival will transform the chaos into order, beauty, and peace. The Kingdom of Heaven will no longer be a prayer upon the lips of the faithful, it will stand in the very soil beneath their feet. His government will be perfect, His justice swift, His mercy rich, and His reign without flaw. As it is written, "Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end" - Isaiah 9:7.

The old weapons of destruction will be reforged into tools of life. Swords will become plowshares, spears will become pruninghooks, and the art of war will vanish from the minds of men. The nations will walk in the light of the King, their loyalty bound to His throne. Jerusalem will be the seat of His authority, the place where truth flows like a river and His word covers the earth as the waters cover the sea. His wisdom pure, His decrees life-giving, and every ruler will bow in glad submission.

This card's verse is Isaiah 2:4:

"[...] and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more."

This reign will be a thousand years of perfect restoration. The land will yield abundantly, the seas will teem with life, and the skies will shine in unbroken clarity. Justice will no longer be a hope, it will be the air breathed by the nations. The people who survived the fire of judgment will now taste the sweetness of peace, seeing firsthand what it means for the earth to be ruled in righteousness and truth.

A World at Rest

The King will rule with power and tenderness, His rod of iron unbending in justice, yet His hand gentle to those who seek His face. There will be no rebellion left in the streets, no oppressor on the throne of men, no predator among the sheep. The land will rejoice, the animals will rest without fear, and even the deserts will bloom in celebration of His reign. The entire creation will breathe freely, its curse lifted, its wounds healed.

From the throne in Jerusalem, the King will send forth blessing upon blessing. The nations will bring their treasures to Him, not by force, but by joy. Children will play in safety, the elderly will walk in strength, and no tear of injustice will stain the eyes of the living. The world will know peace in its purest form, not a pause in war, but the eternal presence of the Prince of Peace.

Believer, our place in this story is already secured. We will not stand among the citizens learning to walk in His ways, we will reign with Him as His bride, clothed in glory, sharing in His victory. We will descend with Him in white, our names bound to His heart, our place forever by His side. This Kingdom will not be a distant hope for us, it will be our inheritance, our home, our joy. For "if we suffer, we shall also reign with him" - 2 Timothy 2:12. The King is ours, and we are His, for all eternity.

Strategic Use In Gameplay

Kingdom Come creates strategic tempo swings by turning weaker or expiring Beings into strong, protected threats. It gives +Strength, +Hope, and Protect, allowing the new 4/4 Bride to absorb pressure or threaten enemy Beings. This is especially effective in midrange or board-centric strategies that value unit upgrades and timing-based resource trades. It also plays into Bride synergy, opening opportunities for tribal effects.

Synergies and Plays:

  • Efficient Upgrade: Use it to upgrade a 1 cost or weakened Being into a 4/4 powerhouse, bypassing normal stat curves.

  • Protected Presence: The Protect keyword forces enemies to target it first, making it a shield for other important Beings.

  • Tribal Setup: Returning Bride can synergize with Bride-specific buffs or effects.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What happens with the being that gets exchanged.

A: They go where the thing replacing them was. Because it's a token in this case, the being is removed from the game.

Q: Can I target a damaged friendly Being?

A: Yes. Even a weakened or damaged Being is a valid target. It will be replaced with a 4/4 Bride with Protect.

Q: Does the resurrect ability of the target friendly being get trigged when being exchanged?

A: No, because that being isn't exiled, it's removed. When a being is exchanged, it's sent where the other being is located, and tokens exist outside of the game.
