They roasted its flesh and ate it in haste, with their shoes on, ready to leave Egypt behind. This wasn’t just a meal, it was a moment of salvation. The blood was applied to the doorposts of every home, not with a brush, but by striking, on the sides and the top, forming the image of a cross in crimson.

That night, judgment passed through Egypt. Every firstborn without the blood was struck down. But every house marked by the blood was spared. The angel of death saw the lamb’s sacrifice and passed over. That’s why it was called Passover, not because of the people's strength, but because of the power of the blood. “And he shall offer his offering unto the LORD, one he lamb of the first year without blemish for a burnt offering, [...]” - Numbers 6:14. This offering sealed their safety, and it sealed their future.

The same power that delivered them delivers us now.

We consume Him by faith. We feast on His body and His blood, with our mouths with bread and wine, and we do so because we do it by faith. His offering gives strength to every member of the household. His blood speaks peace over every life it covers. The death that should have come for us passes over because Jesus took it in our place. His offering was the substance. His sacrifice didn’t just cover, it cleansed forever.

Believer, you are marked by the blood. Death has passed over you. Judgment has no place in your house. You’ve received the Lamb. You’ve feasted on His grace. You’ve been sealed by His offering. Every time you remember the cross, remember this: the blood still speaks. You are safe. You are covered. You are His. The door is shut, the blood is applied, and your name is written in heaven.
