In the ancient Hebrew language, the very first letter, Aleph (א), is drawn as the head of an ox, the symbol of strength, leadership, and service. “Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.” – Proverbs 14:4. The ox didn’t just plow fields; it carried burdens, pulled loads, and gave its life upon the altar.

Jesus, The Strong One Who Was Sacrificed

Jesus is the Aleph, the first. He is the One who was without blemish, yet He chose to become the offering for sin. “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” – John 10:11. In His strength, He could have called angels to rescue Him. But in His grace, He stayed on the cross, bearing every weight, every failure, every sin of mankind.

And that cross? It’s the Tau, the sign, the mark of salvation. “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures” – 1 Corinthians 15:3. From Aleph to Tau, from strength to sacrifice, Jesus fulfilled every image, every promise, every shadow. The One who holds all things together became the One who was broken for us.
