Genesis Set Card 18/250

Crushed Under Foot is a Common Event from the Stars Age, costing 4 Faith. It deals 4 Damage to Target Opponent, then lets you Draw a Verse.

The Bible Story Behind Crushed Under Foot

Among the signs in the heavens appears the foot of the Mighty One descending upon the head of the dragon. The dragon isn't shown standing as an equal opponent or escaping from the conflict. His head lies beneath the foot appointed to crush him, declaring that his rebellion shall end in complete and irreversible defeat.

Within the Stars Age, this sign reveals the fulfillment of the promise first spoken after the fall of man. The serpent would bruise the heel of the promised seed, but the seed of the woman would bruise the serpent's head. The wound suffered by the Redeemer would be real, yet the destruction of the enemy's authority would be certain.

Romans 16:20 — “And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.”

Paul's promise in Romans 16 follows his warning about people causing divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine the believers had learned. God remains the One who defeats Satan, and the grace of Jesus Christ accompanies the assurance. The card's crushing image also recalls Genesis 3:15, while the final removal of Satan belongs to the later events described in Revelation.

Jesus struck the decisive blow against the dragon through His death and resurrection. At the cross, He spoiled principalities and powers, bore the curse of sin, and silenced the accusations raised against those who believe. The serpent bruised His heel in death, but the risen Christ crushed the foundation of Satan's power.

The church shares in this triumph because we're joined to Christ, not because we possess victory in ourselves. The law could expose our guilt and give the accuser occasion against us, but Jesus fulfilled the law and answered every charge through His blood. We're complete in Him, accepted in His righteousness and safe beneath His grace.

Crushed Under Foot Bible TCG Strategy

Crushed Under Foot combines direct pressure with card Draw. Because it deals Damage to an Opponent, you Gain Bible Points equal to the Damage that Opponent takes. After that, you Draw a Verse, helping you keep pressure while replacing the card in your Hand. The Damage sentence finishes and is checked before the Draw sentence begins. If the Damage ends the Game, don't Draw or resolve pending triggers.

Synergies

  • Direct pressure: Crushed Under Foot can help you Gain Bible Points quickly by dealing Damage to the Opponent.

  • Card Draw: Drawing a Verse helps replace Crushed Under Foot and keeps your Hand moving.

  • Pray synergy: Beings with Pray increase Event Damage, making Crushed Under Foot even more dangerous.

Questions and Answers

Q: What happens if Imprisoned Dragon's Pray +2 is active when I Play Crushed Under Foot?

A: Crushed Under Foot deals 6 Damage instead of 4. Your Opponent therefore takes 6 Damage and you Gain 6 Bible Points before resolving the Draw that follows.

Q: Do multiple Pray effects make Crushed Under Foot even stronger?

A: Yes. Add the active Pray values together and increase the Event's Damage by that total.

Q: If the Verse I Draw from Crushed Under Foot is exactly the Faith Verse I need, can I Place it as Faith that same Turn?

A: Yes. If you haven't used your Faith Action yet, the Verse is now in your Hand and can be chosen for your normal Faith Action during that Play Phase.

Q: If Raphael, One Of Seven is limiting me to one Verse Played from my Hand, can I Play the Verse I Draw from Crushed Under Foot that same Turn?

A: Not if Crushed Under Foot was already your one Verse Played from Hand for that Turn. Drawing another Verse doesn't bypass Raphael's restriction.

Q: Can Protect stop the 4 Damage from Crushed Under Foot?

A: No. Crushed Under Foot Targets the Opponent directly. Protect affects Challenges against adjacent Beings, not Event Damage to a Player.
