Genesis Set Card 90/250
Eleazar, Next In Line is a Common Priest Being from the Torah Age, costing 4 Faith with 4 Strength, 5 Hope, 2 Reach, and 4 Move. His Prophecy Ability Returns another Target Friendly Being to its Owner's Hand.
The Bible Story Behind Eleazar, Next In Line
Eleazar was the third son of Aaron and served within the priesthood established by God for Israel. After Nadab and Abihu died for offering strange fire before the LORD, Eleazar and Ithamar continued beside their father. Their service showed that the holiness of the sanctuary required reverence, obedience, and exact attention to God's commands.
Eleazar received responsibility over the chief of the Levites and those who guarded the sanctuary. He also oversaw important materials used in worship, including the oil, incense, continual meat offering, and anointing oil. Eleazar, Next In Line therefore presents a priest being prepared to carry greater responsibility within Israel's appointed order.
Numbers 3:32 — “And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be chief over the chief of the Levites, and have the oversight of them that keep the charge of the sanctuary.”

Eleazar's authority didn't come from ambition or popularity. God appointed his family to the priesthood and gave him a specific charge within it. He would later succeed Aaron as high priest, showing that the Levitical priesthood passed from one mortal servant to another because death prevented any man from continuing permanently.
The succession from Aaron to Eleazar points toward the weakness of every earthly priesthood. Even faithful priests grew old and died, requiring another man to take their place. Jesus Christ possesses an unchangeable priesthood because He rose from the dead and continues forever.
Jesus didn't merely oversee sacrifices within an earthly sanctuary. He offered Himself as the spotless sacrifice, shed His own blood, and entered the true heavenly sanctuary on our behalf. His one offering completed what generations of Levitical priests could never finish through repeated service.

Questions and Answers
Q: What happens if Eleazar Returns Korah, Rebel Leader?
A: Korah Returns to your Hand. If you Play and Create him again later, his Prophecy can deal another 3 Damage to Target Enemy.
Q: Can Eleazar Return a Being with Resurrect to trigger its Ability?
A: No. Return doesn't trigger Resurrect because the Being wasn't Exiled.
Q: Can Eleazar Return a Friendly Token?
A: Yes, if it's a legal Target, but the Token then goes to the Out of Game Zone rather than remaining in your Hand.
Q: Can Eleazar Target himself?
A: No. His Prophecy says another Target Friendly Being.
Q: If there is nothing useful to return, is Eleazar still Created?
A: Eleazar is Created normally. If any other legal Friendly Being exists when Prophecy resolves, you must choose and return one, even if you would prefer not to. Skip the instruction only when there is no legal Target, including when all other Friendly Beings have active Darkness.
