Genesis Set Card 155/250
Fortune Moth is a Common Creep Being from the Church Age, costing 1 Faith with 1 Strength, 1 Hope, 3 Reach, and 2 Move. It has no Ability.
The Bible Story Behind Fortune Moth
During His earthly ministry, Jesus warned His disciples not to build their lives around possessions that decay or can be taken away. Clothing could be eaten by moths, metals could be corrupted, and thieves could break through the strongest earthly protection. Anything stored within this present world remains temporary, vulnerable, and unable to provide lasting security.
A moth appears small and harmless, yet it can quietly destroy clothing that once seemed valuable. Fortune Moth therefore presents the slow and certain corruption hidden within every treasure that depends upon earthly wealth, beauty, or human possession.
Matthew 6:19 — “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:”

Jesus wasn't teaching that work, possessions, or wise preparation are sinful. He was exposing the danger of placing the heart's confidence in riches that can't survive death or enter eternity. Where a person stores his treasure reveals what he believes will truly satisfy, protect, and reward him.
The apostolic letters develop this teaching by directing believers toward an inheritance that's incorruptible, undefiled, and reserved in heaven. Jesus purchased that inheritance through His blood, rose again, and now sits at the right hand of God. The church's lasting wealth is found in Christ rather than in the unstable riches of this present world.
The believer's identity and standing before God aren't determined by earthly possessions or by what is accomplished with them. Jesus Christ purchased an incorruptible inheritance through His blood, and the church's lasting riches are found entirely in Him. Nothing done with earthly wealth can add to the righteousness, acceptance, or everlasting inheritance already secured in Christ.

Fortune Moth Bible TCG Strategy
Fortune Moth is a simple low-Cost Creep with useful Reach for its Cost. With 3 Reach, it can threaten more Slots than many other 1-Cost Beings. Even without an Ability, Fortune Moth can help build early Storyline presence, support Creep synergy, and give you a cheap Being to buff or use in Challenges.
Synergies
Early Storyline presence: Fortune Moth gives you a low-Cost Being early in the Game.
Creep synergy: Fortune Moth works well in Decks that care about Creeps.
Buff Target: Because it's cheap and has 3 Reach, Fortune Moth can become more useful when given extra Strength or Hope.

Questions and Answers
Q: Why is Fortune Moth a good Target for a permanent Strength buff?
A: Its Printed Strength is low, but its 3 Reach already gives it useful Challenge coverage. Increasing Strength lets you turn that inexpensive Reach into a genuine threat.
Q: What happens if I give Fortune Moth Land Inheritance?
A: Fortune Moth Gains the Ability to Draw a Verse whenever it Challenges, turning a vanilla 1-Cost Being into a potential card-advantage engine.
Q: Can Rise Up And Walk make Fortune Moth significantly harder to remove?
A: Yes. It becomes a 3-Strength, 3-Hope Being while retaining its 3 Reach and 2 Move.
Q: Is Humble very effective against an unmodified Fortune Moth?
A: Not normally. It has no printed Ability and no direct modifiers to remove.
Q: Why can a cheap vanilla Being sometimes be safer to build around than an Ability-heavy Being?
A: Effects that only Cancel Abilities do very little to Fortune Moth's Printed Stats. Its value can instead come from the separate buffs and granted Abilities you choose to add.
