Refusing Worship is an Uncommon Event from the Wrath Age, costing 6 Faith. It Exiles Target Being, and that Being's Owner loses 4 points.

The Bible Story Behind Refusing Worship

During the final half of Daniel's seventieth week, the beast will openly demand the worship of the world. His image will be established, his mark will control buying and selling, and those who refuse his authority will face captivity and death. Refusing Worship presents the patient saints who will choose faithfulness to Jesus Christ rather than temporary safety beneath the Antichrist.

These saints aren't the church, for the bride will already be beside Christ before this period of wrath begins. They'll believe during Jacob's trouble as Israel and the nations again become the focus of revealed prophecy. Their circumstances will be different from the church's heavenly calling, but their hope will still rest in the Lamb and the truth of His testimony.

Revelation 13:10 — “He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.”

The beast may lead God's servants into captivity and kill those who resist him, but his violence will eventually return upon his own head. The saints aren't instructed to conquer his kingdom through earthly force, but to endure in faith while trusting the righteous judgment of God. Their patience will be showed by refusing to worship the beast even when obedience to Christ costs them their freedom and physical lives.

In Bible TCG's timeline, the saints who persistently refuse the beast's worship and mark are killed before the vials are poured out. Revelation 20:4 then shows those beheaded for the witness of Jesus and the Word of God living and reigning with Christ. The sequence explains their death and promised vindication within the future account, rather than presenting martyrdom as a condition of the church's present salvation.

When Jesus Christ returns at Armageddon, He will destroy the beast's armies and bring the persecutor into judgment. The saints who refused worship will be vindicated, while the kingdom that threatened them will disappear beneath the authority of the true King. Christ alone will wield the sword of judgment, and those who patiently trusted Him will enter the righteous kingdom for which they suffered.

Refusing Worship Bible TCG Strategy

Refusing Worship is a flexible removal Event that can Target any Being. Most of the time, you'll use it to Exile an Enemy Being, causing that Being's Owner to lose 4 points. Since it says Target Being, it can also Target a Friendly Being if you want to trigger Resurrect or remove your own Being for a specific reason. In that case, you would be the Owner and you would lose 4 points.

Synergies

  • Direct Exile: Refusing Worship Exiles Target Being.

  • Point pressure: The Owner of the Exiled Being loses 4 points.

  • Resurrect setup: Refusing Worship can Exile a Friendly Being with Resurrect if that's part of your strategy.

Questions and Answers

Q: Why might I ever use Refusing Worship on my own Jude, Old Mysteries?

A: You would lose 4 points, but Jude's Resurrect could strengthen the Beings adjacent to him. In the right Board state, that future value may justify the score Cost.

Q: What happens if I Exile an Enemy Being with Resurrect?

A: Its Owner loses 4 points, but that Being's active Resurrect Ability can still trigger.

Q: Can Eternal or Anointing stop Refusing Worship?

A: No. It directly Exiles rather than dealing Damage.

Q: What happens if I Target a Token?

A: Its Owner loses 4 points, and the Token returns to the Out of Game Zone after leaving the Storyline.

Q: What happens if Antichrist is active when Refusing Worship Exiles a Being?

A: Exile the legal Target and make its Owner lose 4 points before the Checkpoint. Antichrist records the Exile trigger, but its Damage waits until the Event finishes and reaches its place in the Queue. If no legal Target exists, neither connected instruction happens.
