Behold The Nail is an Uncommon Event from the Gospel Age, costing 1 Faith. It has Discern, letting you choose between two outcomes: deal 1 Damage to Target Being, or Restore 2 Hope to it.
The Bible Story Behind Behold The Nail
Isaiah spoke to Zion during a time when God's people feared that the LORD had forsaken and forgotten them. The chapter answered their sorrow with a promise of restoration, declaring that God's covenant faithfulness was stronger than the deepest natural affection a mother could possess for her child.
To assure Jerusalem that she remained continually before Him, the LORD used the image of her being engraved upon His hands. Behold The Nail therefore begins with a promise that God hadn't lost sight of His people, their walls, or the purpose He had determined to accomplish through them.
Isaiah 49:16 — “Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.”
The engraving described something permanent rather than a temporary mark that could easily disappear. Though this verse originally assured Zion of God's remembrance, its language also offers a powerful gospel picture when we behold the risen hands of Jesus Christ, still bearing the wounds of the cross.
The hands that formed creation were willingly stretched upon the cross and pierced for sinful mankind. Jesus could have resisted His captors, but He surrendered Himself according to the Father's will. The nails reveal both the seriousness of our sin and the immeasurable love of the Savior who accepted its judgment in our place.
After His resurrection, Jesus showed His wounded hands to the disciples and invited Thomas to examine the evidence. The marks confirmed that the same Jesus who had been crucified was now alive for evermore. His wounds don't represent an unfinished sacrifice, but the everlasting testimony that redemption was fully purchased through His blood.

Behold The Nail is a flexible Event that can be used for either Damage or Hope Restoration. You can deal 1 Damage to a Being to finish it off or weaken it, or you can Restore 2 Hope to a Being to help it stay on the Storyline. Because it Targets any Being, it can Target a Friendly Being or an Enemy Being.
The word “it” refers to the Target defined by the Damage option. Choose one Discern outcome and one legal Being; the Restore option doesn't also deal Damage. Active Darkness prevents selecting that Being for either outcome, even when it's Friendly.

Questions and Answers
Q: Can I use Behold The Nail's Damage option on my own Being to activate Patience?
A: Yes. Because it can Target any Being, you may Damage your own Being. If that Being survives and becomes damaged, its Patience can begin applying.
Q: Could I use the Restore option on an Enemy Being specifically to turn off its Patience?
A: Yes. If the Restoration removes all of that Being's Damage, it's no longer damaged and its Patience stops applying.
Q: If I choose the 1 Damage option while Solomon, Wise Request is active, what happens?
A: Solomon's Pray +2 increases the Event Damage from 1 to 3.
Q: Does Pray increase the Restore option too?
A: No. Pray increases Event Damage. It has no effect on Restoration.
Q: If the Target has exactly 1 Current Hope, how do the two Discern choices create opposite outcomes?
A: The Damage option can Exile it by reducing its Current Hope to 0, while the Restore option can remove Damage and make it safer instead.
