Temple Purification is a Common Event from the Gospel Age, costing 2 Faith. It Gives Target Friendly Being +2 Hope, then lets you Draw a Verse.
The Bible Story Behind Temple Purification
When Jesus entered Jerusalem, He came to the temple and found its courts filled with commercial activity. Men were buying and selling animals, while moneychangers conducted business within the place appointed for prayer and worship. What should have directed Israel toward the holiness of God had been corrupted by greed and religious profit.
Jesus responded with open authority. He drove out those who bought and sold, overturned the tables of the moneychangers, and removed the seats of those selling doves. Temple Purification therefore presents Israel's Messiah entering His Father's house and judging the corruption that its leaders had permitted within it.
Matthew 21:12 — “And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,”
Jesus wasn't acting through uncontrolled anger or personal offense. His actions fulfilled the righteous zeal belonging to the Son who understood exactly what the temple represented. The house built for God's name was meant to be a house of prayer, but sinful men had turned sacred worship into an opportunity for gain.
The temple in Jerusalem was the appointed center of Israel's worship, but Jesus revealed that something greater than the building had arrived. God dwelt among men in the person of His Son. Christ Himself was the true meeting place between God and mankind, containing the fullness of God in a living human body.
Men would soon destroy that temple by crucifying Jesus, but He raised it again on the third day. Through His death, He bore our sins and provided the cleansing no temple marketplace, sacrifice, or human effort could purchase. His blood purified everyone who believes, and His resurrection established a new and living way to God.
Temple Purification Bible TCG Strategy
Temple Purification is a support Event that strengthens a Friendly Being and replaces itself in your Hand. Giving +2 Hope can make a Friendly Being harder to Exile and help it survive future Damage. Because this Gives +2 Hope instead of Restoring Hope, it can increase the Being's Hope beyond its Printed Hope.
Resolve the +2 Hope grant and its Checkpoint before proceeding to the separate Draw instruction. If no legal Friendly Target exists, skip the Hope grant and still perform the Draw, provided the Game continues. Active Darkness prevents selecting even your own Being.

Q: Does Temple Purification activate Nicodemus, Born Again?
A: No. Temple Purification Gives +2 Hope; it doesn't Restore Hope. Nicodemus specifically activates when a Being is Restored.
Q: Why might +2 Hope be better than Restoration on a Being with patience?
A: Giving Hope increases how much Damage the Being can survive without removing its existing Damage. That means the Being can remain damaged and keep its Patience active.
Q: If Paul, Truth Of Grace is damaged, can Temple Purification make him harder to Exile without turning off Patience?
A: Yes. Paul gains +2 Hope but keeps his existing Damage, so his Patience +5 Strength can remain active.
Q: What happens if the Being is later Humbled?
A: Humble removes the direct +2 Hope modifier granted by Temple Purification.
Q: Could losing that +2 Hope from Humble immediately Exile a damaged Being?
A: Yes. Recalculate its Current Hope after the modifier is removed. If its Current Hope becomes 0 or less, the Being is Exiled.
