Blazing Mountain is an Uncommon Event from the Wrath Age, costing 3 Faith. It deals 5 Damage to Target Being.

The Bible Story Behind Blazing Mountain

When the second trumpet sounds, something resembling a great mountain burning with fire will be cast into the sea. Revelation presents this as a real future judgment that will strike the earth during Daniel's seventieth week. Blazing Mountain reveals creation being violently shaken as heaven's decrees begin overturning the world mankind believed was secure.

The passage doesn't identify this blazing mountain as a symbolic empire or earthly city. John describes an enormous fiery object entering the sea and producing measurable destruction: a third of the sea becomes blood, a third of its living creatures die, and a third of its ships are destroyed. The language allows the object to appear mountain-like while still describing a literal catastrophe.

Revelation 8:8 — “And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;”

The phrase "as it were" describes the object's mountain-like appearance without weakening the reality of the event. Its impact will transform a vast portion of the sea into blood and devastate marine life and human vessels. What mankind could never control or repair will show that the oceans remain entirely beneath the authority of their Creator.

This judgment won't be an isolated natural accident. It will follow the opening of the seals and occur within an ordered series of trumpet judgments moving the world toward Armageddon. The angel sounds at God's command, the fiery mountain falls at the appointed time, and its destruction reaches only the portion established by divine decree.

The sea that once displayed the abundance and sustaining goodness of creation will become an instrument of wrath against a rebellious world. Yet the One directing these judgments is also the Lamb who first came to bear judgment Himself. Jesus Christ shed His blood upon the cross, died for our sins, and rose again so that everyone who believes His gospel may be freely delivered from condemnation.

Blazing Mountain Bible TCG Strategy

Blazing Mountain is a strong single-Target Damage Event. Since it says Target Being, it can Target a Friendly Being or an Enemy Being. Most of the time, you'll use Blazing Mountain to remove or weaken a dangerous Enemy Being. It can also be used on a Friendly Being if you need to trigger Damage-based synergies, but 5 Damage is a large amount.

Synergies

  • Heavy Damage: Blazing Mountain deals 5 Damage to Target Being.

  • Threat removal: It can Exile many Enemy Beings by dealing enough Damage.

  • Pray synergy: Since Blazing Mountain is an Event that deals Damage, Beings with Pray can increase its Damage.

Questions and Answers

Q: What happens if I deliberately Target an undamaged Paul, Truth Of Grace with Blazing Mountain?

A: Paul takes 5 Damage and normally survives with 1 Current Hope. Because he is damaged, Patience activates and Gives him +5 Strength.

Q: Why is that Play extremely risky?

A: Paul is left only 1 Current Hope from being Exiled. Any additional Damage can remove him unless you increase his Hope or protect him.

Q: What happens if I use Blazing Mountain on Peter, Jewish Apostle?

A: Peter normally survives with 2 Current Hope and becomes damaged, activating Patience and Giving him Protect and Abundance.

Q: How can Pray make self-Damaging with Blazing Mountain unexpectedly dangerous?

A: Pray increases your Event Damage regardless of whether you Target a Friendly or Enemy Being. A Pray bonus can push the self-Damage high enough to Exile your own Being instead of merely activating Patience.

Q: What happens if the Target has unused Anointing?

A: Anointing ignores the entire 5-Damage instance and becomes used.
