Brimstone Rider – Common Wrath Spirit | Bible TCG

Updated: Sep 28

Genesis Set Card 184/250
Brimstone Rider is a Common Spirit Being from the Wrath Age, costing 2 Faith with 4 Strength, 3 Hope, 2 Reach, and 2 Move. Its Prophecy Ability Exiles a Verse from your Hand.
The Bible Story Behind Brimstone Rider
When the sixth trumpet sounds, a command will be given to loose the four angels bound in the great river Euphrates. These beings have been prepared for a precise hour, day, month, and year to execute judgment upon mankind. Brimstone Rider presents one member of the vast supernatural mounted army released during Daniel's final week.
John numbers the horsemen at two hundred thousand thousand and describes horses with lion-like heads and injurious tails. Fire, smoke, and brimstone issue from their mouths. This supernatural army brings judgment through the terrifying creatures John describes. Their appearance and their weapons belong to the devastation released at the trumpet.
Revelation 9:18 says: "By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths."

A third part of mankind will die through these three plagues. Fire, smoke, and brimstone recall earlier displays of God's judgment, especially the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, yet Revelation applies them on a far greater scale. The same holy God who judged rebellion in earlier generations will again show that persistent wickedness can't continue without consequence.
The four angels and the mounted army can't begin their work before the exact moment appointed by God. Their release shows that the Wrath Age won't consist of uncontrolled disasters or satan directing history as he pleases. Every trumpet advances according to the timetable of the Lord, who remains sovereign over the Euphrates, the nations, and the unseen realm.
Even after this devastating loss of life, Revelation records that many survivors will refuse to repent of idolatry, murder, sorcery, fornication, and theft. The judgments will expose the hardness of mankind rather than automatically producing faith. Only the Lamb can save, for Jesus bore sin at the cross, rose from the dead, and offers life through Himself rather than through fear of punishment alone.

Brimstone Rider Bible TCG Strategy
Brimstone Rider gives very strong Stats for only 2 Faith, but its queued Prophecy instructs you to Exile a Verse from your Hand if one is available. This makes Brimstone Rider efficient when your Hand is otherwise empty, or when you can spare a Verse in exchange for early Storyline pressure. The Hand Exile is a Prophecy instruction, not an additional Play Cost. You may Play Brimstone Rider with no other Verse in Hand; Exile a Verse if one is available when Prophecy resolves, otherwise continue without Exiling one. A Prophecy already recorded remains queued if the source is later Humbled.

Synergies
Strong Early Stats: Brimstone Rider gives 4 Strength and 3 Hope for only 2 Faith.
Empty-Hand Sequencing: When your other useful Plays leave Brimstone Rider as the last Verse in your Hand, Playing it can avoid its Hand-loss drawback. If your Hand is still empty when its Prophecy resolves, you Exile nothing and keep the strong Being without losing another Verse.
Recovery Planning: An Event Verse Exiled from your Hand can later be Returned by Keys Of Hell And Death. That Hand Exile doesn't trigger Resurrect, which requires a Being to leave the Storyline through Exile.

Questions and Answers
Q: If Brimstone Rider Exiles an Event from my Hand, can Keys Of Hell And Death recover it?
A: Yes, as long as the Event remains in your Exile Pile.
Q: If it Exiles a Being with Resurrect from my Hand, does Resurrect happen?
A: No. Resurrect only triggers when that Being is Exiled from the Storyline.
Q: What happens if Brimstone Rider is Returned and Played again?
A: Its Prophecy triggers again, so you may have to Exile another Verse from your Hand.
Q: Can Humbling Brimstone Rider after it enters undo the Verse already Exiled from my Hand?
A: No. Humble never reverses a completed Hand Exile. If Prophecy was recorded but has not yet resolved, Humble also doesn't cancel that pending instruction; Exile a Verse when it resolves if one is then available.
Q: Brimstone Rider normally has 4 Strength. How could Moses, Law Of God make it vulnerable to Release Barabbas?
A: Moses's -1 Strength can reduce it to 3 Strength, bringing it within Release Barabbas's requirement of 3 or less Strength.
