The Foretold Victory from the Beginning

The Head of the Serpent, Marked for Destruction

From the beginning, God declared victory. In the garden, after the fall of man, He gave a promise that would echo through all of history: “...it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” – Genesis 3:15. The serpent’s head, the core of his authority and deceit, would be crushed. And that crushing is captured in the stars, in the image of the Breaker, whose foot is set to destroy the dragon.

The work of Christ at the cross is where this crushing began. Jesus, sinless and holy, laid down His life as the final offering. In doing so, He took the sting of death, bore the weight of sin, and triumphed over the powers of darkness. “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” – Colossians 2:15. The serpent bruised His heel, but the head was marked, and Jesus fulfilled the prophecy in full authority.

We are those who believe the gospel, the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for our sins and through that faith, we are made partakers in His triumph. “And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.” – Colossians 2:10.

Though the dragon still rages, his fate is sealed. He will be cast into the lake of fire. “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone...” – Revelation 20:10. This is the future the stars portray and the Scriptures guarantee. And in that final day, the believers, those who are in Christ, will stand in full victory, crushing under foot the enemy that once accused them.

Believers, stand firm in the grace that made you triumphant. The One who crushed the head of the dragon is your Savior. His strength is your hope. His promise is your assurance. And when all is fulfilled, you will reign with Him, not as victims of the fall, but as victors in His glory.
