The Bible Story Behind Daniel, Dragon Slayer
After Daniel exposed the deception surrounding Bel, the king directed his attention toward a great dragon worshiped by the people of Babylon. Unlike the lifeless statue, the dragon moved, ate, and appeared to possess life. The king therefore challenged Daniel to acknowledge it as a living god. Daniel, Dragon Slayer presents the prophet refusing to worship a creature and proving that even Babylon's most impressive object of devotion was powerless before the God of Israel.
Daniel didn't confront the dragon with an army, sword, or spear. He prepared a mixture of pitch, fat, and hair, boiled them together, and formed them into lumps. When the dragon swallowed them, it burst apart. The creature worshiped by an entire city was destroyed through Daniel's wisdom, exposing the foolishness of treating something created, mortal, and vulnerable as divine.

Daniel then confronted the Babylonians with the emptiness of their worship. The dragon could eat, but it couldn't understand; it could inspire fear, but it couldn't preserve its own life. Its destruction proved that movement and physical power don't make a creature worthy of worship, because every living thing remains dependent upon the Creator who gave it breath.
Throughout Scripture, the dragon also becomes associated with satan, the ancient serpent who deceives the world and demands the allegiance belonging to God. Jesus Christ came to destroy the works of the devil, not through earthly weapons, but through His own death and resurrection. At the cross, the enemy appeared to consume Christ, yet that very act became the means through which his authority was broken.
Daniel defeated Babylon's dragon through a carefully prepared substance, but Jesus defeated the greater dragon by offering Himself without sin. He shed His blood for sinners, entered death, and rose again beyond its power. The church doesn't conquer satan through secret knowledge, personal strength, or religious ceremonies. Believers overcome because they belong to the risen Christ whose finished work has delivered them from the power of darkness.

Daniel, Dragon Slayer creates repeated Hand disruption. At the End of each of your Turns, he can Reveal an Opponent's Hand and Exile their strongest remaining Verse. His 5 Hope, 4 Reach, and 5 Move make him difficult to avoid and easy to reposition. If the Opponent can't remove Daniel quickly, he can steadily empty their Hand while threatening Challenges across the Storyline.

Repeated Hand control: Daniel removes another Verse at each of your Ends of Turn while his Ability is active.
Faith-to-Hand disruption: Returning an Opponent's Faith Verse to their Hand gives Daniel another possible Verse to Exile.

Q: How do Hidden Tabernacle and Daniel work together during the same Turn?
A: Hidden Tabernacle can return an important Faith Verse to the Opponent's Hand during your Play Phase. If it remains there until End of Turn, Daniel can Reveal the Hand and Exile that Verse.
Q: What happens if I control two Daniel, Dragon Slayers?
A: Each has its own End of Turn Ability. The first can Reveal and Exile one Verse, then the second sees the Opponent's updated Hand and can Exile another.
Q: Does the Opponent get to hide any newly Drawn cards from Daniel before your End of Turn?
A: No. Daniel Reveals whatever is actually in the Target Opponent's Hand when his Ability resolves.
