Elisha, Double Portion is a Common Prophet Being from the Israel Age, costing 6 Faith with 2 Strength, 5 Hope, 5 Reach, and 4 Move. He has Zeal and Abundance.

The Bible Story Behind Elisha, Double Portion

Elisha had left his fields and followed Elijah faithfully through years of prophetic service. When the time came for Elijah to be taken away, Elisha refused every opportunity to remain behind. He followed his master from Gilgal to Bethel, from Bethel to Jericho, and across the Jordan, showing his determination to remain with the prophet until the very end.

Elisha asked for a double portion of Elijah's spirit. The language recalls the firstborn's double share of an inheritance and is commonly understood as a request to succeed Elijah as his prophetic heir. It shouldn't be reduced to a numerical claim that Elisha wanted exactly twice as many miracles; the surrounding account stresses succession and the gift only God could grant.

2 Kings 2:9 — “And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.”

Elijah explained that the request could only be granted by God and gave Elisha a sign: if he witnessed Elijah being taken away, the portion would be his. Elisha saw the whirlwind and chariot of fire, took up Elijah's fallen mantle, and returned to the Jordan. When the waters divided before him, God publicly confirmed that Elisha had been appointed to continue the prophetic work.

Elijah's departure followed by Elisha's empowered ministry points forward to the ascension of Jesus Christ and the coming of the Holy Ghost. Jesus fulfilled the law, bore our sins, shed His blood, died, was buried, and rose again so that everyone who believes receives forgiveness, righteousness, and everlasting life freely by grace. The exalted Lord then poured out the Holy Ghost upon His church.

Believers don't receive separate portions of the Holy Ghost according to personal greatness, nor must they earn an anointing by following a human leader. Everyone who trusts the gospel is sealed by the same Spirit and joined to one body. The power belongs to Christ, the gifts are distributed by His will, and all true ministry exists to glorify the risen Savior.

Questions and Answers

Q: Can Elisha Challenge one Enemy Being, Play an Event, and then use his second Challenge afterward?

A: Yes. His two Challenges don't need to happen consecutively. You can take other legal actions between them.

Q: Can Elisha Challenge two different Beings?

A: Yes. Each Challenge is chosen separately, so his second Challenge can choose a different legal Target.

Q: Can Elisha Challenge the same Being twice?

A: Yes, if that Being survives the first Challenge and remains a legal Target for the second.

Q: Can Elisha directly Challenge the Opponent twice?

A: Yes, if the Opponent remains a legal direct Challenge Target for both Challenges and Blocking doesn't prevent either one.

Q: What happens if Elisha is Humbled after completing his first Challenge?

A: His Abundance is canceled, so he loses permission to make the additional Challenge. His first Challenge remains completed.
