The Bible Story Behind Fallen Angel
Fallen Angel presents the sons of God in Genesis 6, heavenly beings who crossed into an unlawful union with the daughters of men. Their rebellion belongs to the growing corruption before the flood. Genesis records giants and men of renown, then turns toward the wickedness filling the earth and God's coming judgment.
That corruption continued to oppose the promised seed. The conflict that began in Eden now spread through unlawful unions and a world increasingly filled with wickedness. Yet the enemy couldn't corrupt God's promise or prevent the Redeemer from coming through the line the Lord would preserve.
Genesis 6:4 says: "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, [...]"
The giants became mighty men of renown, but their strength existed within a world filled with corruption. Their power couldn't make them righteous, save them from the flood, or overturn God's purpose. The passage shows that no rebellion in heaven or on earth can prevent the Lord from keeping His promise.
The fallen angels descended in rebellion, but Jesus Christ came down from heaven in perfect obedience. He didn't come to corrupt mankind, but to redeem it. Conceived by the Holy Ghost and born of a virgin, the only begotten Son of God entered the world holy, harmless, undefiled, and separate from sinners.
At the cross, Jesus faced the spiritual powers that had worked against God's purpose from the beginning. He bore our sins, spoiled principalities and powers, and rose again in victory. The church wasn't formed through fleshly union, earthly lineage, or the works of the law, but through faith in Christ and the Holy Ghost's regenerating work.
