Jericho's Trumpet is a Common Event from the Israel Age, costing 1 Faith. It Gives Target Friendly Being +2 Strength.

The Bible Story Behind Jericho's Trumpet

Jericho was the first fortified city Israel faced after crossing the Jordan into the promised land. Its walls appeared secure, and the city had shut itself tightly because of the children of Israel. Yet the LORD gave Joshua a plan that depended not upon siege weapons or human strategy, but upon obedience to His exact command.

For six days, Israel marched once around the city while seven priests carried trumpets before the ark of the Covenant. On the seventh day, they circled Jericho seven times. When the priests sounded the trumpets and Joshua commanded the people to shout, Jericho's Trumpet announced the moment when God would give Israel victory over a stronghold they couldn't bring down themselves.

Joshua 6:20 — “So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, [...]”

The walls fell because the LORD had delivered the city into Israel's hand. Their marching didn't gradually weaken the stone, and their voices didn't possess natural power to collapse it. Faith obeyed the word of God, and divine power accomplished what Israel's strength could never achieve.

Joshua led Israel into battle, but Jesus Christ is the greater Captain of salvation. He faced the fortified powers of sin, death, and the grave and defeated them through what appeared to the world as weakness. At the cross, the Savior accomplished the victory no human effort, law-keeping, or religious strength could produce.

The trumpet also points believers toward the return of Christ. The Lord will descend from heaven with a shout and the trump of God, and the dead in Christ will rise. Just as Jericho's wall couldn't remain standing when God appointed its fall, death itself will be unable to hold the church when Jesus calls His people to Him.

Jericho's Trumpet Bible TCG Strategy

Jericho's Trumpet is a cheap Strength buff that can help a Friendly Being win Challenges or deal more Damage to the Opponent. Because no duration is given, the +2 Strength stays unless another effect removes it. This makes Jericho's Trumpet useful both as an immediate Challenge boost and as a long-term upgrade for an important Being.

Synergies

  • Strength buff: Jericho's Trumpet Gives Target Friendly Being +2 Strength.

  • Challenge pressure: The extra Strength can help a Friendly Being win important Challenges.

  • Event synergy: Jericho's Trumpet works well in Decks that care about Events being Played.

Questions and Answers

Q: If I Play Jericho's Trumpet on Daniel, Inside Babylon, does Daniel's Ability make the Opponent lose more than 2 points?

A: No. Daniel's triggered Ability still makes the Opponent lose exactly 2 points. The +2 Strength instead increases Daniel's Challenge Damage, including the Bible Points from a successful direct Challenge.

Q: What happens if I Play two Jericho's Trumpets on the same Being?

A: The two separate +2 Strength modifiers stack, Giving that Being +4 Strength total.

Q: Can Jericho's Trumpet make a 0-Strength Being capable of dealing Challenge Damage?

A: Yes. A Being with 0 Printed Strength that receives +2 Strength now has 2 Strength and can deal 2 Damage when it Challenges.

Q: If the buffed Being is later Humbled, what happens?

A: Humble removes the direct +2 Strength modifier granted by Jericho's Trumpet.

Q: If Jericho's Trumpet's Controller later leaves the source Event in Exile, does the +2 Strength disappear?

A: No. The Event has already resolved and granted the modifier. The Event Verse entering Exile doesn't end the completed effect.
