The Bible Story Behind John, Beloved Believer
John was one of the twelve apostles and an eyewitness of the earthly ministry of Jesus. He heard the Lord's teaching, witnessed His miracles, stood near the cross, and entered the empty tomb after the resurrection. His testimony wasn't built upon rumours or religious imagination, but upon what he had personally seen and heard from the Son of God.
At the conclusion of his gospel, John acknowledged that his written account contained only a portion of everything Jesus had done. John uses an expansive closing expression to convey how much more could be told of Jesus' works. John, Beloved Believer therefore presents a faithful witness recognizing that the recorded gospel reveals Christ truly without exhausting everything that could be said concerning Him.
