Genesis Set Card 87/250
Joshua, Trustworthy Spy is a Common Soldier Being from the Torah Age, costing 3 Faith with 2 Strength, 2 Hope, 3 Reach, and 1 Move. He has Darkness, meaning he can't Block or be Targeted before he Interacts.
The Bible Story Behind Joshua, Trustworthy Spy
Moses sent twelve leaders to search the land of Canaan and report what they found. All twelve saw its fruitfulness, fortified cities, and powerful inhabitants. Yet ten spies allowed the strength of the enemy to overshadow the word of God, while Joshua and Caleb measured the land by the promise the LORD had already given.
When the congregation became afraid, Joshua and Caleb tore their clothes and urged Israel not to rebel. They didn't deny the giants or pretend the battle would be easy. Their confidence rested upon the presence and favor of God. Joshua, Trustworthy Spy therefore presents a faithful witness standing against the fearful report of the majority.
Numbers 14:8 — “If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.”

Joshua understood that Israel couldn't secure the land through human strength alone. The LORD had to bring them in and give it to them according to His covenant promise. Because that generation refused to believe, they wandered in the wilderness, while Joshua was preserved to lead their children into the inheritance years later.
Joshua eventually crossed Jordan and led Israel into the earthly land promised to Abraham's descendants. His victories were real, but the rest he gave Israel was incomplete and temporary. Jesus Christ is the greater Captain who defeated sin, death, and every power that stood between believers and everlasting life.
At the cross, Jesus fought the battle we could never win. He fulfilled the law, bore our sins, died, and rose again in victory. The church receives a heavenly inheritance and spiritual rest through union with the risen Christ.

Questions and Answers
Q: Can an Enemy Being Challenge Joshua before Joshua Interacts?
A: No. A Challenge Targets Joshua, and Darkness prevents Targeting by any Player before he Interacts.
Q: Can Joshua Block before he Interacts?
A: No. That's the tradeoff built into Darkness.
Q: Can Sore For Slaughter or Seven Year Famine Damage Joshua before he Interacts?
A: Yes. Those effects affect all Enemy Beings without Targeting them individually.
Q: What happens after Joshua Challenges for the first time?
A: He has Interacted, so Darkness stops protecting him. He can then be Targeted by the Opponent and can Block normally.
Q: What if Fearful Nations gives Joshua Fear before he Interacts?
A: Fearful Nations can affect him because it doesn't Target. Joshua then can't Move or Challenge to end his Darkness state while Fear applies, leaving him protected from Targeting but also unable to Block until he eventually Interacts.
