The Bible Story Behind Oil Anointing
When Saul was rejected from continuing as king, the LORD sent Samuel to Bethlehem to anoint one of Jesse's sons. Samuel first looked upon the older brothers, but God reminded him that the LORD sees the heart rather than judging according to outward appearance.
David hadn't even been called to the gathering at first, because he was tending the sheep. Yet when he was brought before Samuel, the LORD identified him as the chosen one. Oil Anointing therefore presents the overlooked shepherd being publicly set apart for the throne according to God's choice.
1 Samuel 16:13 — “Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. [...]”
The oil visibly marked David as God's appointed king, though many years would pass before he occupied the throne. From that day, the Spirit of the LORD came upon him and prepared him for the battles, suffering, and leadership ahead. David possessed the divine appointment before he possessed the visible kingdom.
David's anointing offers an illustrative parallel with Jesus Christ, the promised Son of David and true Messiah. The title Christ means the Anointed One. At His baptism, the Holy Ghost descended upon Him, and the Father openly declared His delight in the beloved Son appointed to fulfill every promise of redemption and kingship.
Jesus was rejected by men before receiving the visible throne promised to Him. He suffered, bore our sins upon the cross, and rose again before ascending into heaven and being exalted at the right hand of God. The rejected King now possesses all authority and will return to reign over Israel and the nations from David's throne.

Oil Anointing is a cheap protection Event that helps a Friendly Being survive Damage. Anointing lets that Being ignore the first Damage it would take. This is useful before a key Challenge, before your Opponent's Turn, or when you want to protect an important Being from Damage-based Events.

Questions and Answers
Q: Is Oil Anointing always good on Jonah, Sent To Gentiles?
A: Not necessarily. Anointing can keep Jonah alive, but if it ignores a Damage instance, Jonah didn't actually take that Damage and therefore doesn't Draw from his Ability.
Q: Can I Give Anointing to a Being after its original Anointing has already been used?
A: Yes. If the Being no longer has unused Anointing, Oil Anointing can grant it Anointing again and give it protection from another future Damage instance.
Q: What happens if I Play Oil Anointing on a Being that already has unused Anointing?
A: Anointing doesn't Create multiple stacked shields simply because the Being receives the same unused Keyword again. It still ignores the first applicable Damage instance.
Q: Does Oil Anointing help against Goliath's Taunts?
A: No. Goliath's Taunts Sets Hope rather than dealing Damage, so Anointing has nothing to ignore.
Q: Can Oil Anointing protect a Being from Unclean?
A: Indirectly, yes. If Anointing ignores the Damage from the Being with Unclean, your Being wasn't damaged, so Unclean doesn't Exile it from that Damage instance.
