Paul, Truth Of Grace is a Rare Chief Being from the Church Age, costing 7 Faith with 4 Strength, 6 Hope, 4 Reach, and 6 Move. He has Zeal and Patience: +5 Strength.

The Bible Story Behind Paul, Truth Of Grace

Paul had once trusted his ancestry, religious training, and obedience to the law as reasons for confidence before God. After meeting the risen Jesus, he counted those former advantages as loss compared with knowing Christ. The man who had tried to establish righteousness through the law became the apostle who most clearly explained righteousness received freely through faith.

Christ appointed Paul especially to carry the gospel among the Gentiles while also testifying to Jews wherever he traveled. He preached in synagogues, marketplaces, homes, prisons, and before rulers, refusing to change the message to avoid persecution. Paul, Truth Of Grace therefore presents an apostle convinced that the gospel itself possessed God's power to save everyone who believed it.

Romans 1:16 — “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

The gospel went to the Jew first because Israel had received the covenants, promises, Scriptures, and Messiah according to the flesh. Yet salvation was never restricted to Jewish ancestry, and the same message was carried to the Greek. Both Jew and Gentile stood guilty before God, and both could be justified only by believing in Jesus Christ rather than by performing the works of the law.

Paul's letters explain the completed meaning of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection for the church. Jesus bore our sins, satisfied divine judgment, rose again, and now gives His righteousness to everyone who believes. The gospel is the power of God because it announces a finished salvation rather than offering mankind another system through which to save itself.

Through Paul's ministry, the Holy Ghost revealed believing Jews and Gentiles joined as one new man within the body of Christ. By faith in the gospel, the church receives everything Christ has secured for His body and bride, including acceptance in the beloved, all spiritual blessings, and a joint inheritance with Him. Israel will enjoy her promises fulfilled in Jesus when the nation receives Him as her Messiah and King at His second coming.

Paul, Truth Of Grace Bible TCG Strategy

Paul, Truth Of Grace is a powerful late-Game Being that can act immediately and become much stronger while damaged. Zeal lets him Challenge the Turn he is Created, and Patience Gives him +5 Strength while he is damaged. This means Paul can enter the Storyline, Challenge immediately, and become a huge threat if he takes Damage and survives.

Paul's Patience doesn't change Damage already dealt. If he begins an ordinary Challenge undamaged at 4 Strength, its Damage dealt at the same time uses that Strength; taking surviving Damage turns on Patience afterward. Giving Hope doesn't remove Damage, so it doesn't by itself turn Patience off.

Synergies

  • Immediate Challenge: Zeal lets Paul Challenge immediately when he is Created.

  • Patience Strength: While damaged, Paul gains +5 Strength.

  • Restore timing: Restoring Paul can help keep him alive, but if he is fully Restored, Patience stops applying.

Questions and Answers

Q: What happens if I Play Grace Is Enough on Paul before using Zeal?

A: Paul takes 1 Damage, activating Patience for +5 Strength, and Grace Is Enough gives another +2 Strength. He becomes an 11-Strength Being that can still use Zeal to Challenge immediately.

Q: If Paul instead becomes damaged during his first Challenge, does Patience increase the Damage he already dealt in that Challenge?

A: No. The Challenge Damage has already been determined and dealt at the same time. Patience turns on afterward for future actions while Paul remains damaged.

Q: Does fully Restoring Paul remove only his Patience bonus or also other Strength buffs?

A: Full Restoration turns off Patience because Paul is no longer damaged. Separate Strength modifiers remain unless the effect removing Damage also says otherwise.

Q: Can Paul use Zeal if he is Humbled immediately after being Created but before he Challenges?

A: No. Humble cancels Zeal and Patience.

Q: Why can leaving Paul slightly damaged sometimes be better than fully Restoring him?

A: If he can safely survive, remaining damaged keeps the powerful +5 Strength from Patience active.
