Genesis Set Card 166/250
Preaching God's Grace is an Uncommon Event from the Church Age, costing 3 Faith. It gives Target damaged Being +5 Strength.
The Bible Story Behind Preaching God's Grace
While traveling toward Jerusalem, Paul met with the elders of the church at Ephesus and reminded them of his ministry among them. He had taught publicly and from house to house, warning both Jews and Greeks and directing them toward faith in Jesus Christ. His work wasn't built around personal success, comfort, or the preservation of his own reputation.
Paul knew that bonds and afflictions awaited him, yet he refused to abandon the ministry entrusted to him by the risen Lord. He considered the faithful completion of his course more valuable than protecting his earthly life. Preaching God's Grace therefore presents an apostle strengthened to continue because the message he carried was worth every hardship required to proclaim it.
Acts 20:24 — “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.”

Paul described his message as the gospel of the grace of God because salvation begins, continues, and is completed through God's undeserved favor in Jesus Christ. He didn't preach that sinners could earn righteousness through Israel's law or religious works. He testified that God freely saves everyone who believes in the crucified and risen Savior.
The grace Paul preached rested upon a completed historical work. Jesus fulfilled the law, bore our sins upon the cross, was buried, and rose again the third day. Grace isn't God ignoring sin, but God freely giving salvation because His Son has already answered sin's judgment completely.
Acts records the gospel moving from Israel toward the Gentile world, while the apostolic letters explain its full meaning for the church. Believing Jews and Gentiles are justified by the same faith, sealed by the same Spirit, and joined to the same body. The church doesn't receive righteousness through the law, but through the grace and righteousness supplied entirely in Christ.

Preaching God's Grace Bible TCG Strategy
Preaching God's Grace is a powerful Strength increase for a Being that has already taken Damage. Because it Targets a damaged Being, the chosen Being must have Damage when the Targeted instruction resolves. You may still Play the Event with no legal Target, but its instruction then does nothing.
This can turn a damaged Friendly Being into a major threat, especially if it's Ready to Challenge. Since the card says Target damaged Being, it can Target a Friendly Being or an Enemy Being, so choose carefully.
Synergies
Damaged Being upgrade: Preaching God's Grace gives Target damaged Being +5 Strength.
Patience synergy: Beings that are already damaged for Patience can become even stronger with this Event.

Questions and Answers
Q: What happens if I Play Preaching God's Grace on a damaged Paul, Truth Of Grace?
A: Paul's Patience already Gives him +5 Strength while damaged, and Preaching God's Grace adds another +5. Paul rises from 4 Printed Strength to 14 Strength.
Q: If Paul is later fully Restored, what happens to that 14 Strength?
A: Patience turns off, removing its +5, but Preaching God's Grace remains. Paul would still have 9 Strength before other effects.
Q: Can I Play Preaching God's Grace on a damaged Enemy Being?
A: Yes, but you would be Giving that Enemy Being +5 Strength, so there should be a specific strategic reason for doing so.
Q: Does Giving +5 Strength remove any Damage from the Target?
A: No. It remains damaged, which is especially important for maintaining Patience.
Q: What happens if the Target is Humbled?
A: The direct +5 Strength modifier is removed, and any Patience Ability on that Being is also canceled.
