Blessed Are The Faithful

Refusing Worship is a 6 Faith Event that offers a powerful removal tool, you may Exile any target Being, and your opponent loses 4 points. This card shines in tempo control decks, giving you hard removal while punishing your opponent’s dip in resources simultaneously.

The Stand Against the Beast

In the heat of the tribulation’s darkest hour, a dividing line will be drawn across the earth. The beast will demand worship, his image will command allegiance, and his mark will seal the fate of every soul who receives it. But before that, in the first half of the covenant, the nations will be swept into deception, drawn by false wonders and smooth words. Yet the midpoint will shatter illusions. The resurrection of the Man of Sin into the Son of Perdition, the slaying of God’s witnesses, and the desecration of the holy place will awaken multitudes to the truth, that this ruler is not the Christ but the very embodiment of the Devil.

From that moment on, the last half of those 7 years, the message of heaven will ring with urgency. "Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come" - Revelation 14:7. The eternal gospel in these days will be crystal clear, do not worship the beast, do not take his mark. This call will echo through every language and tribe, warning of the eternal cost of allegiance to the dragon’s kingdom. And among the Gentiles who once walked in blindness, hearts will turn toward the truth. They will see Israel flee into the wilderness, and many will rise to care for them in secret, knowing their own lives hang in the balance.

This card's verse is Revelation 13:10:

"He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints."

The choice will be absolute. Those who remain faithful to the Lamb will face the sword. The Scriptures tell us that the souls of the faithful will be beheaded for the witness of Jesus and for the Word of God. Their refusal will not be passive; it will be a bold, unshakable testimony, a public stand that proclaims Christ as King even unto death. These martyrs will come back to life only after Jesus and His army, the Bride of the Lamb, come back to Earth.

The Reward of the Faithful

Though the beast will seem unstoppable, his reign will be short, measured by God’s own decree. The faithful who fall in these days will rise in glory, their resurrection tied to the triumph of Christ’s return. "They lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years" - Revelation 20:4. They will stand as overcomers clothed in white. The same One they refused to deny will be the One who raises them in power, setting them as rulers in His millennial kingdom.

These tribulation saints will bear a unique testimony. They will have endured without the indwelling seal of the Spirit as given to the church, yet they will walk in obedience to the commandments of God and the testimony of Jesus. They will be the living proof that the Word of God cannot be chained, that His truth can sustain even in the fiercest persecutions. Like Daniel’s companions before the golden image, they will stand while the world bows, and their reward will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father.

Believer, we live under the grace of Christ, sealed with His Spirit, and called to a blessed hope. We will not walk through these days of wrath, for "God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ" - 1 Thessalonians 5:9. Our testimony flows from the finished work of the cross, where every sin was judged, every debt was paid, and every chain was broken. We are the bride awaiting her Bridegroom, already seated with Him in heavenly places. Our place in His kingdom is secured, our future is glory, and our calling is to shine that light now, so that those still in darkness might find life in His name before the hour comes.

Strategic Use In Gameplay

With its high cost and potent effect, Refusing Worship is ideal for mid-to-late game control strategies. It disrupts key threats, stalls opponent momentum, and provides a significant tempo swing reminiscent of a board clear that still saves your side from heavy losses.

Synergies and Plays:

  • Removal and Tempo: Exiling a problematic enemy Being while simultaneously inflicting -4 hope on your opponent can disrupt their plans and swing the game balance.

  • Control Combo: Pairs well with decks that exile rapidly, triggering exile-focused synergies while punishing your opponent’s resources.

  • Wrath Advantage: Fits perfectly in Wrath themed strategies that gain value through exile effects and pressure-based tempo plays.
