Genesis Set Card 223/250
Right Hand Sheep is an Uncommon Event from the Power Age, costing 6 Faith. It deals 2 Damage to all Enemy Beings, then Gives all Friendly Beings +2 Strength this Turn only.
The Bible Story Behind Right Hand Sheep
After Jesus Christ returns at Armageddon, He will sit upon the throne of His glory and gather the surviving nations before Him. This judgment occurs before the thousand-year kingdom and should be distinguished from the Great White Throne judgment of the dead after the millennium. Right Hand Sheep presents the King separating those permitted to enter His earthly kingdom from those removed in judgment.
Christ will divide them as a shepherd separates sheep from goats, placing the sheep at His right hand and the goats at His left. Their treatment of the Jews called "the least of these my brethren" will reveal how they responded to the King during Daniel's final week. Those who protected and cared for Christ's persecuted brethren will show faithfulness, while those who rejected them will expose their allegiance against Him.
Matthew 25:33 says: "And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left."
The King's verdict names their treatment of His brethren during the persecution of Israel. The sheep gave food, drink, shelter, clothing, and help to those who belonged to Him; the goats withheld that care. Their works reveal their response to the King, and He judges them accordingly. This judgment concerns the surviving nations after Wrath, while the church has already returned with Christ as His completed bride.
The sheep remain upon the earth and enter the kingdom prepared from the foundation of the world. They live as mortal inhabitants beneath Christ's government and produce the generations who will inhabit the thousand-year reign. Their place differs from the glorified bride, the resurrected martyrs, and restored Israel, while every part of the kingdom answers to the same Lord.
The goats are cast into hell because their rejection of Christ's brethren revealed their rejection of Him. Jesus counts the kindness or cruelty shown to His brethren as treatment of Himself, and His judgment reaches beyond a temporary earthly consequence. Matthew 25:46 says: "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal." The King preserves the sheep and removes the goats, allowing no enemy to hide behind an outward profession while the kingdom begins.
