Genesis Set Card 73/250

Thirsty Camel is a Common Beast Being from the Hebrew Age, costing 6 Faith with 4 Strength, 4 Hope, 3 Reach, and 6 Move. It has Protect and Resurrect. When it's Exiled, you Draw a Verse.

The Bible Story Behind Thirsty Camel

Abraham's servant traveled into Mesopotamia with ten camels carrying the riches of his master. He had been sent to find a wife for Isaac from among Abraham's kindred, a responsibility that required the direction of God. When he reached the well outside the city, he prayed that the appointed woman would reveal herself through an unusual act of willing kindness.

Before the servant had finished speaking, Rebekah arrived with her pitcher. She gave him water and then offered to draw for all his camels also. A thirsty camel could drink a great amount, making her offer a demanding labor rather than a small gesture. Thirsty Camel therefore represents generous service performed willingly, diligently, and without being asked for the smallest possible portion.

Genesis 24:20 — “And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels.”

Rebekah didn't delay or serve reluctantly. She hurried, emptied her pitcher, returned repeatedly to the well, and continued until every camel had finished drinking. Her actions confirmed the answer to the servant's prayer and revealed the character of the woman God had prepared for Isaac. Her willing service helped identify the bride appointed for the promised son.

This account offers a beautiful picture of the Father's purpose for Jesus Christ and His church. Abraham desired a bride for his promised son, while the servant traveled into a distant land carrying his master's message and gifts. In a greater way, the Holy Ghost calls a people to the Son, revealing the riches of Christ through the Gospel.

Rebekah heard of Isaac before she ever saw him, believed the servant's testimony, and agreed to leave her former home to meet the bridegroom. The church also loves a Savior we haven't yet seen with our eyes. We weren't joined to Christ through the law or human lineage, but through faith in His death, burial, and resurrection and the sealing of the Holy Ghost.

Questions and Answers

Q: What happens if Levi, Competitive Tribe Targets and Exiles Thirsty Camel?

A: Levi can Target it because Thirsty Camel has Protect. Thirsty Camel is Exiled, and its Resurrect Ability then lets its Controller Draw a Verse.

Q: What happens if Thirsty Camel is Humbled before being Exiled?

A: Both Protect and Resurrect are Canceled. It no longer protects adjacent Beings, and its Exile won't trigger the Draw.

Q: Does Returning Thirsty Camel to my Hand trigger Resurrect?

A: No. Resurrect only triggers from Exile.

Q: If I control Royal Elephant when Thirsty Camel's Resurrect lets me Draw, what happens?

A: Royal Elephant can activate from the Draw and Exile four Verses from the top of Target Opponent's Bible.

Q: If Thirsty Camel Moves across the Storyline, does its Protect move with it?

A: Yes. Protect always applies based on Thirsty Camel's current Slot, so after it Moves it protects the Friendly Beings that are now adjacent to it.
