The Bible Story Behind Bloody Jawbone
The men of Judah bound Samson and delivered him to the Philistines, hoping to protect themselves from further conflict. As the enemy approached him with shouting, the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon Samson, and the cords around his arms broke as easily as flax burned by fire.
Samson found the fresh jawbone of an ass, took it into his hand, and used it to strike down a thousand Philistine men. The weapon possessed no military value by itself, yet God enabled Samson to accomplish an overwhelming victory through it. Bloody Jawbone therefore presents an ordinary and despised object becoming powerful in the hand of Israel's appointed deliverer.
Judges 15:15 — “And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith.”
Samson named the place Ramath-lehi, meaning the lifting up of the jawbone, because the victory had been accomplished through that unlikely instrument. Yet right afterward, his great thirst revealed that he remained a dependent man. The warrior who defeated a thousand enemies still needed God to open a hollow place and provide water to preserve his life.
Samson's unlikely weapon reminds us that God often accomplishes His greatest purposes through what the world considers foolish and weak. The cross of Jesus Christ appeared shameful, powerless, and defeated in the eyes of men. Yet through that instrument of death, the Son of God conquered sin, spoiled spiritual powers, and secured everlasting redemption.
Unlike Samson, Jesus didn't destroy His enemies by taking their lives. He gave His own life for rebels and sinners, bearing our guilt beneath the judgment of God. Christ fulfilled the law, died upon the cross, and rose again so that the apparent place of defeat became the everlasting sign of His complete victory.

Bloody Jawbone is a strong removal Event that also replaces itself in your Hand. It can deal 4 Damage to a Target Enemy Being, helping Exile many mid-sized threats or finish off a damaged one. After dealing Damage, you Draw a Verse, which helps you keep resources while answering an Enemy Being.

Q: If the Target's Anointing ignores all 4 Damage, do I still Draw a Verse?
A: Yes. Bloody Jawbone continues resolving after the Damage instruction. Preventing the Damage doesn't remove the later Draw instruction.
Q: What if the Target is Eternal and therefore takes no Damage?
A: You still Draw after resolving the Damage instruction. Eternal prevents the Damage, not the rest of the Event.
Q: Can Bloody Jawbone finish a Being whose Hope was Set to 1 by Goliath's Taunts?
A: Yes. Unless the Damage is prevented, 4 Damage is more than enough to reduce that Being's Current Hope to 0 or less.
Q: What happens if the 4 Damage Exiles the Enemy Being?
A: The Being enters Exile as normal, and Bloody Jawbone then continues to its Draw instruction.
Q: Does Solomon's Pray +2 turn Bloody Jawbone into 6 Damage while keeping the Draw at one Verse?
