Breaking Bread is a Common Event from the Gospel Age, costing 3 Faith. It Gives Target Friendly Being +3 Strength and +3 Hope.
The Bible Story Behind Breaking Bread
During the Passover meal, Jesus took bread into His hands, blessed it, and broke it before His disciples. He had fed multitudes with bread, declared Himself to be the Bread of Life, and now used this familiar food to prepare His followers for His approaching death. The One serving the meal was also the Savior who would give Himself for them.
Jesus distributed the broken bread and told the disciples to eat, identifying it with His body. He wasn't being overtaken by events beyond His control, but deliberately explaining the sacrifice He was about to make. Breaking Bread therefore presents Christ willingly giving what sinful mankind could never take from Him apart from His consent.
Matthew 26:26 — “And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.”

The bread gave the disciples a visible reminder of the body Jesus would offer upon the cross. Within hours, He would be betrayed, struck, scourged, and crucified, yet every step remained within God's determined purpose. The meal directed their attention toward a real sacrifice through which the sinless Son would give His life for many.
Natural bread can sustain the body temporarily, but Jesus gives everlasting life to everyone who believes in Him. Manna preserved Israel in the wilderness for a season, yet those who ate it eventually died. Christ came down from heaven to provide the spiritual life, righteousness, and acceptance that no earthly food or religious ceremony could produce.
Jesus bore our sins in His body upon the tree, died, was buried, and rose again the third day. His sacrifice was completed once for all and never needs to be repeated. When the church breaks bread in remembrance of Him, we proclaim a finished death and celebrate communion with the risen Savior who has joined every believer to His one body.

Questions and Answers
Q: What happens if I Play Breaking Bread on a damaged Being with patience?
A: The Being gains +3 Strength and +3 Hope without removing its Damage, so Patience remains active while the Being becomes even stronger and harder to Exile.
Q: Can Breaking Bread help Delivered Captive without removing its four self-Damage?
A: Yes. Delivered Captive gains +3 Strength and +3 Hope, but its existing Damage stays. This raises its survivability without using Restoration.
Q: If I give Breaking Bread to a Being with Abundance, does the +3 Strength help both Challenges?
A: Yes. The Strength modifier remains active during each Challenge.
Q: Does +3 Hope mean the Being was Restored?
A: No. No Damage is removed, so an Ability such as Nicodemus's doesn't activate merely because Breaking Bread increased Hope.
Q: What happens if the Being is Humbled later?
A: The +3 Strength and +3 Hope granted by Breaking Bread are removed.
