Genesis Set Card 140/250
Crucifixion Centurion is a Common Soldier Being from the Gospel Age, costing 4 Faith with 2 Strength, 2 Hope, 2 Reach, and 3 Move. Its Prophecy Ability Creates a Roman Soldier Token.
The Bible Story Behind Crucifixion Centurion
A Roman centurion was responsible for overseeing the crucifixion of Jesus and the two criminals beside Him. He had likely witnessed other executions, but the death of Jesus was unlike anything he had seen. The darkness, the words spoken from the cross, and the manner in which Christ surrendered His life revealed that this was no ordinary condemned man.
Jesus didn't die cursing His enemies or struggling desperately against death. He prayed for those who crucified Him, promised paradise to the believing thief, and committed His spirit into the Father's hands. Crucifixion Centurion therefore presents a Gentile soldier watching the righteous Son of God complete His sacrifice with perfect authority and obedience.
Luke 23:47 — “Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.”

The centurion considered what had taken place and openly acknowledged the innocence of Jesus. While Israel's rulers had condemned Christ and the Roman government had carried out the sentence, this officer became a witness that the Man upon the central cross had suffered despite possessing no guilt of His own.
The centurion's confession directs our attention toward the sinlessness required of mankind's Savior. Jesus perfectly fulfilled the law and committed no sin, yet He was treated as a criminal. Only the righteous Son could stand in the place of guilty sinners and offer a sacrifice untouched by personal guilt.
Upon the cross, Jesus bore our sins in His own body and received the judgment they deserved. The veil of the temple was torn, showing that His blood had opened the way to God. He was buried and rose again the third day, proving that the righteous sacrifice had been accepted and everlasting redemption had been accomplished.

Questions and Answers
Q: If Samson, Wild Honey is already in my Hand, how can I position Crucifixion Centurion and its Token to prepare for Samson?
A: Leave a Slot where Samson can be Created adjacent to one or both Soldiers. His queued Prophecy affects the Beings adjacent when that Prophecy resolves; Creation doesn't immediately resolve it ahead of older Queue items.
Q: Can I Return Crucifixion Centurion and Play it again later to make another Roman Soldier Token?
A: Yes. If it's Created again, Prophecy triggers again, provided an open Slot is available for the Token.
Q: What happens if only one open Slot exists before I Play Crucifixion Centurion?
A: Centurion initially fills that Slot. If no Slot has opened by the time its queued Prophecy resolves, no Token is Created. If an earlier Queue item opens a Slot, the Token can be Created there.
Q: Can the Roman Soldier Token be used as a normal blocker on the Opponent's following Turn?
A: Yes. Once Created, it's a Being on the Storyline and follows the normal Blocking rules.
Q: If the Token is later Exiled while Innocent Firstling is active, does Firstling recognize that Exile?
A: Yes. Record the Exile trigger when the Token leaves the Storyline. The Token goes to Out of Game, then the recorded trigger resolves at its place in the Queue; the Token doesn't stay in Exile while waiting for Firstling's Ability.
