Fearful Nations is an Uncommon Event from the Hebrew Age, costing 3 Faith. It Gives Fear to all Enemy Beings.

The Bible Story Behind Fearful Nations

After Jacob commanded his household to put away their strange gods, they journeyed toward Bethel according to the word of God. The cities around them had reason to pursue, especially after the violence committed by Simeon and Levi at Shechem. Yet the terror of God fell upon the surrounding nations, and none dared follow after the sons of Jacob.

Jacob's family wasn't preserved because they possessed the greater army or had earned protection through flawless conduct. Their household had known deception, idolatry, and bloodshed, yet God continued to guard the line through which His promises would be fulfilled. Fearful Nations therefore reveals God restraining hostile powers to preserve His covenant purpose.

Genesis 35:5 — “And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.”

The nations remained in their cities because a fear greater than their anger had come upon them. God didn't need Jacob's family to defeat every enemy with the sword; He could stop pursuit by His presence alone. The passage declares that no nation can cross the boundary God establishes when He rises to protect what belongs to His purpose.

God preserved Jacob because the promises concerning Israel and the coming seed hadn't yet been completed. Through that family would come Jesus Christ, the Son of Abraham and the Son of David. Though rulers, nations, and spiritual powers opposed His coming, nothing could prevent the promised Savior from entering the world at the appointed time.

Jesus was rejected and crucified, yet even the violence of men fulfilled the purpose of God rather than defeating it. He bore our sins, rose again, and now sits above all principality and power. The church isn't protected because we possess earthly strength, but because our life is hid with Christ in God and we're sealed by the Holy Ghost.

Fearful Nations Bible TCG Strategy

Fearful Nations is a strong control Event that prevents each affected Enemy Being from Interacting through the end of that Being's Owner's next Turn. This can buy time, protect your Beings, or give you a safer window to build toward a stronger Play. Because it affects all Enemy Beings and doesn't Target, it can also affect Enemy Beings with Darkness.

Synergies

  • Storyline Control: Fearful Nations can stop every Enemy Being from Moving or Challenging during a key window.

  • Defensive Delay: It can buy you time when your Opponent has a dangerous Storyline.

  • Non-Targeting Fear: Since it affects all Enemy Beings, it doesn't Target them individually.

Questions and Answers

Q: Can Fearful Nations affect an entire Storyline of Beings with Darkness?

A: Yes. It doesn't Target the Beings individually, so Darkness doesn't prevent the effect.

Q: Do the Feared Beings stop Blocking?

A: No. Fear stops Interaction, but the Beings remain in their Slots and continue Blocking normally.

Q: Does Fearful Nations Cancel Protect, Pray, or another passive Ability on those Beings?

A: No. Their Abilities remain active. Fear isn't Humble.

Q: If a Feared Being has Abundance, can it still use its two Challenges?

A: No. Fear prevents it from Interacting, so it can't Challenge at all while Fear applies.

Q: Can my Opponent still Target, Restore, or otherwise affect their own Feared Beings?

A: Yes. Fear doesn't prevent the Beings from being affected by other Abilities. It specifically prevents them from Moving or Challenging.
