Genesis Set Card 24/250
Good Shepherd is a Rare Lord Being from the Stars Age, costing 7 Faith with 8 Strength, 6 Hope, 4 Reach, and 7 Move. It has Resurrect, Giving all other Friendly Beings +2 Strength and +2 Hope when it's Exiled.
The Bible Story Behind Good Shepherd
Good Shepherd joins the shepherd imagery of heaven with Jesus' own description of His care. In John 10, the contrast between the shepherd, the thief, and the hireling clarifies His identity. He knows His sheep and willingly lays down His life for them.
Within the Stars Age, the Shepherd appears in the passage concerning Christ's return and the restoration of Israel. The children of Jacob have been scattered among the nations, but the Lord knows every place to which they've been driven. When the appointed day comes, the Shepherd of Israel shall gather His people, establish them in their land, and fulfill the promises made to their fathers.
John 10:11 says: "I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep."

A good shepherd preserves the flock at a cost to himself. Jesus didn't merely speak of protecting the sheep from afar; He declared that He would give His own life for them. The Shepherd's care is therefore founded upon sacrifice, revealing a love willing to endure death that the sheep might live.
Jesus fulfilled these words at His first coming. He was smitten, rejected, and crucified, while the sheep were scattered; yet He willingly laid down His life and took it again through resurrection. The Shepherd who died now lives forevermore, and the same Jesus shall return to gather Israel and reign in righteousness.
Jesus is also the Head and Shepherd of the church, though the church isn't national Israel. Believing Jews and Gentiles have been made one body through faith in Christ and sealed by the Holy Ghost. We aren't kept through the works of the law, but by the grace and power of the Shepherd who purchased us with His own blood.

Good Shepherd Bible TCG Strategy
Good Shepherd is a powerful late-Game Being that creates major pressure while also threatening a large Resurrect payoff. Your Opponent has to deal with its 8 Strength, but if Good Shepherd is Exiled, your other Friendly Beings become much stronger. Good Shepherd is especially powerful when you already have several other Friendly Beings on the Storyline.
Synergies
Wide Storyline Buff: Good Shepherd is strongest when you have multiple other Friendly Beings ready to receive the +2 Strength and +2 Hope.
Resurrect Pressure: Your Opponent may hesitate to Exile Good Shepherd because doing so strengthens the rest of your Storyline.
Late-Game Threat: With 8 Strength, Good Shepherd is dangerous even before its Resurrect Ability triggers.

Questions and Answers
Q: Does direct Exile trigger Good Shepherd's Resurrect Ability?
A: Yes. Resurrect cares that Good Shepherd was Exiled from the Storyline, not whether Damage caused the Exile.
Q: What happens if Good Shepherd is Humbled before it's Exiled?
A: Its Resurrect Ability is Canceled, so no +2 Strength and +2 Hope bonus triggers when it's Exiled.
Q: How do Return and simultaneous Resurrect affect Good Shepherd?
A: Return doesn't trigger Resurrect. If David and Good Shepherd instead leave by simultaneous Exile, order their recorded triggers by Controller and former Slot. David's new Cattle receive Shepherd's bonus only if they exist when Shepherd's trigger resolves.
Q: If Good Shepherd and several of my other Beings are Exiled at the same time, do those other Beings receive its Resurrect bonus?
A: No. They leave the Storyline at the same time as Good Shepherd. When the Resurrect Ability resolves, only Friendly Beings that remain on the Storyline can receive the bonus.

Q: Can Humble later remove the +2 Strength and +2 Hope that Good Shepherd already Gave to surviving Beings?
A: Yes. Those are direct Stat modifiers granted to those Beings by another effect, so Humbling one of those receivers can remove its received +2 Strength and +2 Hope.
