Genesis Set Card 152/250
New Life In Christ is a Common Event from the Church Age, costing 0 Faith. It deals 2 Damage to Target undamaged Being.
The Bible Story Behind New Life In Christ
Paul wrote to the Galatians because false teachers were attempting to place Gentile believers beneath the law of Moses. Even Peter had temporarily separated himself from Gentile believers out of fear of the circumcision party. Paul publicly corrected him because his actions contradicted the truth that Jews and Gentiles are justified by faith in Jesus Christ rather than by the works of the law.
Paul explained that returning to the law as a means of righteousness would rebuild the system from which faith in Christ had delivered him. Through the law, he had become dead to the law so that he might live to God. New Life In Christ therefore presents the end of the believer's former standing in Adam and the beginning of an entirely new life united with the risen Savior.
Galatians 2:20 — “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

Paul hadn't physically died upon the cross beside Jesus, but Christ's death had become the end of Paul's former identity under sin and condemnation. He continued living within a mortal body, yet the source, purpose, and security of his life had changed. He now lived through continual dependence upon the Son of God who had personally loved him and given Himself for him.
Jesus did more than forgive the past actions of those who believe. He bore our sins, died our death, and rose again so that we could share His everlasting life. The believer's old standing before God ended at the cross, and a new standing began in the righteousness of the risen Christ.
This new life isn't produced by placing the church beneath Israel's covenant law. Jew and Gentile are joined to one body through faith, indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and taught to walk in newness of life. Grace doesn't leave believers spiritually lifeless; it supplies the presence and power of Christ that the law could never produce.

Questions and Answers
Q: What happens if I use New Life In Christ on an undamaged Rambunctious Ram?
A: Rambunctious Ram takes 2 Damage and survives with 1 Current Hope. Because it's now damaged, Patience Gives it +3 Strength.
Q: Can I use a second New Life In Christ on that same Ram afterward?
A: No. Once the first copy actually Damages it, Rambunctious Ram is no longer undamaged and therefore isn't a legal Target for another New Life In Christ.
Q: What if the first New Life In Christ is ignored by Anointing?
A: The Being remains undamaged because it didn't take the Damage. That means it can still satisfy the "undamaged Being" requirement for another effect afterward.
Q: Can New Life In Christ activate Jonah, Sent To Gentiles if I Target my own undamaged Jonah?
A: Yes. If Jonah actually takes the 2 Damage, his Ability activates and lets you Draw a Verse.
Q: Why can this card become dangerous against a 2-Hope support Being?
A: An undamaged Being with 2 Hope can be taken directly from full Hope to 0 Current Hope by the Event, Exiling it for no Faith beyond the required Church Age access.
