Genesis Set Card 56/250
Offering Pigeon is an Uncommon Fowl Being from the Hebrew Age, costing 2 Faith with 1 Strength, 1 Hope, 2 Reach, and 3 Move. It has Resurrect, letting you Draw a Verse when it's Exiled.
The Bible Story Behind Offering Pigeon
Offering Pigeon draws from the cleansing rites of Leviticus 14. The chapter first addresses a person who has been healed of leprosy, then gives instructions concerning a plagued house. The verse printed on this card belongs to the house-cleansing ceremony after the priest has found that the plague hasn't spread.
The priest takes two birds with cedar wood, scarlet, and hyssop. One bird is killed over running water, and the blood and water are used to sprinkle the house; the living bird is then released. The pigeon recalls the offering birds of Genesis 15:9 within the Hebrew Age, carrying the theme of sacrifice forward to the cleansing ceremony given under the later law.
Leviticus 14:50 — “And he shall kill the one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water:”

Leviticus 14:49-53 makes the house the object of this cleansing. The similar ceremony earlier in the chapter concerns a person, which explains the resemblance without making the two settings interchangeable. Blood, cleansing, and release provide a meaningful illustration alongside the later teaching about Christ's sacrifice.
Hebrews 9 distinguishes outward ceremonial cleansing from the cleansing of the conscience through Christ's blood. Jesus offered Himself without spot to God and obtained eternal redemption. The living bird's release pictures freedom received through sacrifice, while the Gospel's saving truth rests upon Jesus' own death and resurrection.

Questions and Answers
Q: If Cast Out Of Heaven directly Exiles Offering Pigeon, does Resurrect still trigger?
A: Yes. Resurrect only cares that Offering Pigeon was Exiled from the Storyline. The Exile doesn't need to come from Damage.
Q: What happens if Offering Pigeon is Humbled before it's Exiled?
A: Its Resurrect Ability is Canceled, so you don't Draw a Verse when it's Exiled.
Q: If I Return Offering Pigeon to my Hand with Signs And Wonders, do I Draw a Verse?
A: No. Return isn't Exile. However, you can later Play Offering Pigeon again and potentially gain its Resurrect value another time. Return effects are specifically useful for reusing or saving Beings.
Q: What happens if I control Royal Elephant when Offering Pigeon's Resurrect lets me Draw?
A: Royal Elephant can activate because you Drew a Verse, causing you to Exile four Verses from the top of Target Opponent's Bible.
Q: If two Offering Pigeons are Exiled at the same time, do I Draw once or twice?
A: Twice. Each Offering Pigeon has its own Resurrect Ability, so each one can trigger from its own Exile and let you Draw a Verse.
