The Bible Story Behind Red Horse Rider
When the Lamb opens the second seal, a rider comes forth upon a red horse. He is given power to remove peace from the earth so that people turn violently against one another. Red Horse Rider presents the collapse of human order during the opening judgments of the wrath Age.
The rider carries a great sword, showing that war, bloodshed, and civil violence will spread far beyond one isolated battlefield. Nations will fight nations, but the verse also describes people killing one another, revealing conflict within societies as fear and hatred overwhelm restraint. The peace mankind attempted to preserve without submission to God will rapidly disappear.
Revelation 6:4 — “And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.”
The rider doesn't seize authority independently, for power is given to him when the Lamb opens the seal. His great sword will become an instrument through which judgment spreads across the earth, preparing the way for famine, death, and greater tribulation.
