Genesis Set Card 37/250
Renown Giant is a Common Soldier Being from the Elder Age, costing 2 Faith with 2 Strength, 2 Hope, 2 Reach, and 0 Move. It has Protect, allowing it to prevent Challenges against adjacent Beings. It can also be Created by Fallen Angel.
The Bible Story Behind Renown Giant
Before the flood, giants walked upon the earth, born during a time of increasing rebellion and corruption. They became mighty men whose strength, deeds, and names were remembered among the people of that ancient world. Their renown made them appear greater than ordinary men, but physical power didn't make them righteous before God.
Genesis places the giants and men of renown beside the sons of God coming to the daughters of men. Those sons of God were heavenly beings who crossed the boundary God had appointed for them. The surrounding account makes the earth's violence and corruption unmistakable, while this identification explains the Fallen Angel card's place in the same Age.
Genesis 6:4 — “[...] and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.”

To be renowned is to possess a name and reputation remembered by others. Yet the fame of these mighty men couldn't preserve them when the flood came. Their strength couldn't resist the judgment of the Creator, revealing that a great name among men means nothing when a person stands opposed to God.
Jesus didn't enter the world seeking the corrupt renown of mighty men. He made Himself of no reputation, took upon Him the form of a servant, and humbled Himself to the death of the cross. Yet through that humility, the Son of God won a victory greater than any earthly warrior could achieve.
God raised Jesus from the dead and highly exalted Him, giving Him a name which is above every name. The church doesn't gain glory through natural strength, earthly fame, or the praise of men. We're accepted because we bear the name of Jesus Christ, having been joined to Him by grace and sealed by the Holy Ghost.

Questions and Answers
Q: If Fallen Angel Creates Renown Giant beside itself, can the Token Protect Fallen Angel immediately?
A: Yes. Once Renown Giant is Created and its Protect Ability is active, Fallen Angel is an adjacent Friendly Being and can be protected from Challenges.
Q: Can my Opponent still Target Fallen Angel with an Event while Renown Giant protects it?
A: Yes. Protect affects Challenges, not Ability Targeting.
Q: What happens if Renown Giant is Humbled?
A: Its Protect Ability is Canceled, so the adjacent Beings it was defending can again be Challenged normally.
Q: If two Renown Giants are beside Fallen Angel, do they give it two layers of Protect?
A: Protect doesn't stack into multiple separate protections. Fallen Angel is simply protected from eligible Challenges while at least one active adjacent Protect applies.
Q: Why does Renown Giant's 0 Move make Fallen Angel's Token placement important?
A: Once the Token is Created, it can't normally reposition. You should choose the open Slot that protects the most important adjacent Being.
