The Day the Deliverer Struck

Moses grew up in Pharaoh’s palace, raised with royal privilege but Hebrew blood in his veins. He saw the burdens on his people. He felt the weight of their chains. One day, while walking among the laborers, he saw an Egyptian striking a Hebrew. The fire of justice rose in him. He looked around, saw no one, and struck the Egyptian down. He hid the body in the sand. The act wasn’t sanctioned by man, but it revealed the calling burning inside him, a deliverer’s heart was already alive in him.

But when the news spread, Egypt heard what happened. The crown saw him as a traitor. His own people questioned him. And so Moses fled into the wilderness. He went from prince to fugitive. It points to another Deliverer, greater than Moses, who would come with a final blow.

The Deliverer Who Struck Death

Jesus stepped into a world bound under a cruel master, sin and death itself. He came with divine authority to free the captives. Like Moses, He was one of us and yet unlike any of us, fully man, fully God. He confronted the oppressor directly. But instead of taking a life, He laid down His own. At the cross, He struck the final blow against the one who held humanity in bondage. The enemy’s claim over mankind was broken. The victory was complete.

The Egyptian fell into the sand. Death fell into the grave. And just as Moses rose from the wilderness to lead his people out, Jesus rose from the tomb to lead us into eternal life. The work is done. The chains are gone. The oppressor has no voice in the courts of heaven. The blood of the Lamb speaks a better word than every accusation.

Believer, the One who struck your enemy has already brought you out. You are delivered, redeemed, and free. No chain remains. No whip cracks over you. Sin has no more dominion over you. Death has no more sting. Your Deliverer stands before you, crowned in glory, His hands scarred with the proof of your freedom. The oppressor is buried in the sand, the grave is empty, and your steps are ordered into the promise. You are free to walk with Him, live in Him, and reign through Him forever.
