Genesis Set Card 14/250
Virgin Birth is a Common Event from the Stars Age, costing 3 Faith. It has Discern, letting you choose between Giving Target Friendly Being +4 Strength, or Giving it +4 Hope and Protect.
The Bible Story Behind Virgin Birth
Virgin Birth connects the virgin in Bible TCG's heavenly story with the promised birth of Immanuel. Isaiah 7 records the sign within God's dealings with Ahaz and the house of David during a time of political fear. Matthew 1:22-23 explicitly brings the prophecy into the account of Jesus' conception and birth.
The card's meaning rests upon that scriptural connection. The child born of Mary was conceived by the Holy Ghost, and Matthew identifies His coming with the name Immanuel. The heavenly picture serves as an introduction to the promise whose fulfillment the gospel account explains.
Isaiah 7:14 — “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”

The promised birth was given as a sign because it couldn't be accomplished through ordinary human power. The child would be called Immanuel, declaring that God had come to dwell among His people. The virgin therefore announces both the humanity and divine identity of the promised Son: a real child born into the world, yet God manifested in the flesh.
Jesus fulfilled this promise when He was conceived by the Holy Ghost and born of the virgin Mary. He entered the world as the only begotten Son of God, truly God and truly man. Unlike every descendant of Adam, He was holy and without sin. The spotless Lamb had come, prepared to accomplish the work of redemption no other person could perform.
Christ was born under the law and fulfilled it perfectly in every thought, word, and deed. He then offered His sinless life for those whom the law had found guilty. The church isn't made righteous by attempting to imitate His perfect obedience beneath the law. We're made the righteousness of God in Him, saved by grace through faith in His death, burial, and resurrection.

Virgin Birth Bible TCG Strategy
Virgin Birth is a flexible Event that can support either offense or defense. If you need pressure, you can Give a Friendly Being +4 Strength. If you need protection, you can Give a Friendly Being +4 Hope and Protect. This makes Virgin Birth useful in many different situations. It can help you win a key Challenge, protect an important Being, or set up a stronger defensive position on the Storyline.
Synergies
Offensive burst: Giving +4 Strength can turn a small Being into a major threat.
Defensive protection: Giving +4 Hope and Protect can make a Being harder to Exile while helping it defend adjacent Beings.
Discern flexibility: Virgin Birth lets you choose the option that best fits the current game state.

Questions and Answers
Q: Does giving a damaged Being +4 Hope also remove 4 Damage?
A: No. Giving Hope changes the Being's Hope but doesn't Restore it. Its existing Damage remains.
Q: What happens if the Being later gets Humbled?
A: The +4 Strength or +4 Hope granted by Virgin Birth is removed, and a Protect Ability granted by Virgin Birth is canceled. Recalculate that Being's Current Hope after the changes.
Q: Can I Target my own Being with Darkness before it has Interacted?
A: No. Active Darkness prevents Targeting by every Player, including the Being's Controller. You must choose another legal Target or skip the connected Targeted step if none exists. Non-Targeting effects can still affect a Being with Darkness.
Q: If the Target already has Protect and I choose +4 Hope and Protect, what happens?
A: It still gains +4 Hope. Having Protect more than once doesn't create an additional Protect effect.
Q: Why can the +4 Strength option sometimes be worth more than the defensive option even if the Being might die afterward?
A: Strength determines both Challenge Damage and the Bible Points gained from a direct Challenge. On a Turn where you can immediately reach the Opponent, +4 Strength may create enough extra pressure to end the Game before long-term survival matters.
