- Gideon, Swift Warrior – Common Israel Soldier | Bible TCG
Gideon, Swift Warrior Base Art Genesis Set Card 113/250 Gideon, Swift Warrior is a Common Soldier Being from the Israel Age, costing 3 Faith with 2 Strength, 2 Hope, 2 Reach, and 2 Move. He has Anointing, allowing him to ignore the first Damage he would take. The Bible Story Behind Gideon, Swift Warrior Israel had been oppressed by Midian for seven years, causing the people to hide in dens, caves, and strongholds. Their enemies destroyed crops and livestock until the nation became greatly impoverished. Gideon was threshing wheat secretly beside a winepress when the angel of the Lord appeared and called the fearful man a mighty man of valor. Gideon questioned why Israel suffered if the Lord was truly with them and described himself as the least member of a poor family. Yet God didn't define him by his present weakness. Gideon, Swift Warrior therefore presents an uncertain servant called and sent according to the strength God would provide rather than the strength he already possessed. Judges 6:22 says: "And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the LORD, Gideon said, Alas, O Lord GOD! for because I have seen an angel of the LORD face to face." Gideon, Swift Warrior Full Art When Gideon understood who had appeared to him, he feared that he would die in the presence of divine holiness. The Lord answered him with peace and told him not to fear. Gideon then built an altar and called it Jehovah-shalom, showing that the God who commissioned him also supplied the peace necessary for him to rise and obey. Gideon would deliver Israel through an army reduced to only three hundred men so that no one could claim the victory came through human strength. Jesus Christ accomplished an even greater deliverance through what appeared weak to the world. He humbled Himself to death upon the cross and defeated sin, death, and the powers of darkness through His sacrifice. Gideon feared condemnation after encountering the presence of God, but Jesus made peace between God and sinners through His blood. Christ fulfilled the law, bore its judgment, and rose again so that everyone who believes could stand before God without terror. The holy God who must judge sin has become our peace through the finished work of His Son. Gideon, Swift Warrior Pure Art Gideon, Swift Warrior Bible TCG Strategy Gideon, Swift Warrior is a steady early Soldier with built-in protection. Anointing helps him survive the first Damage he would take, making him useful for safer Challenges or holding a Slot against small Enemy Beings. Even though his Stats are modest, Anointing gives him extra staying power and makes him more difficult to remove with the first Damage effect. Setting Hope removes all Damage and earlier direct Hope modifiers, but doesn't Cancel or replenish Anointing. If Gideon's Anointing has already been used, Set doesn't give him another use. Synergies Anointing Protection: Gideon ignores the first Damage he would take. Safer Challenges: Gideon can Challenge while ignoring the first Damage that would be dealt to him. Staying Power: Rise Up And Walk can Give Gideon, Swift Warrior extra Strength and Hope. Those bonuses remain after its Anointing has prevented one Damage instance. Gideon, Swift Warrior Artwork Questions and Answers Q: What happens if Goliath's Taunts Sets Gideon's Hope to 1 while his Anointing is still unused? A: Gideon's Hope becomes 1. Anointing does nothing because no Damage was dealt, but it remains unused and can still protect him from the next Damage instance. Q: Can Gideon intentionally Challenge a much larger Being and survive? A: If that Challenge produces Gideon's first Damage instance, Anointing can ignore all of that Damage. Gideon still deals his own Challenge Damage at the same time. Q: What happens if Gideon takes 1 Damage from a small effect before that important Challenge? A: His Anointing is used on the 1 Damage. He no longer has it available to protect him from the later Challenge Damage. Q: Does Restoring Gideon bring back his used Anointing? A: No. Restoration removes Damage; it doesn't refresh a used Keyword. Q: Can Humble Cancel Gideon's Anointing before it's used? A: Yes. If Gideon is Humbled first, his next Damage isn't protected by Anointing. Previous Card: Ferocious Bear Next Card: Jonah, Sent To Gentiles Explore Israel Age Cards Explore All Genesis Set Cards
- Jericho's Trumpet – Common Israel Event | Bible TCG
Jericho's Trumpet Base Art Genesis Set Card 103/250 Jericho's Trumpet is a Common Event from the Israel Age, costing 1 Faith. It Gives Target Friendly Being +2 Strength. The Bible Story Behind Jericho's Trumpet Jericho was the first fortified city Israel faced after crossing the Jordan into the promised land. Its walls appeared secure, and the city had shut itself tightly because of the children of Israel. Yet the Lord gave Joshua a plan that depended not upon siege weapons or human strategy, but upon obedience to His exact command. For six days, Israel marched once around the city while seven priests carried trumpets before the ark of the covenant. On the seventh day, they circled Jericho seven times. When the priests sounded the trumpets and Joshua commanded the people to shout, Jericho's Trumpet announced the moment God would give Israel victory over a stronghold they couldn't bring down on their own. Joshua 6:20 says: "So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, [...]" Jericho's Trumpet Full Art The walls fell because the Lord had delivered the city into Israel's hand. Their marching didn't gradually weaken the stone, and their voices didn't possess natural power to collapse it. Faith obeyed the word of God, and divine power accomplished what Israel's strength could never achieve. Joshua led Israel into battle, but Jesus Christ is the greater Captain of salvation. He faced the fortified powers of sin, death, and the grave and defeated them through what appeared to the world as weakness. At the cross, the Saviour accomplished the victory no human effort, law-keeping, or religious strength could produce. The trumpet also points believers toward the return of Christ. The Lord will descend from heaven with a shout and the trump of God, and the dead in Christ will rise. Just as Jericho's wall couldn't remain standing when God appointed its fall, death itself will be unable to hold the church when Jesus calls His people to Him. Jericho's Trumpet Pure Art Jericho's Trumpet Bible TCG Strategy Jericho's Trumpet is a cheap Strength buff that can help a Friendly Being win Challenges or deal more Damage to the Opponent. Because no duration is given, the +2 Strength stays unless another effect removes it. This makes Jericho's Trumpet useful both as an immediate Challenge boost and as a long-term upgrade for an important Being. Synergies Strength Buff: Jericho's Trumpet Gives Target Friendly Being +2 Strength. Challenge Pressure: The extra Strength can help a Friendly Being win important Challenges. Event Synergy: Jericho's Trumpet works well in Decks that care about Events being Played. Jericho's Trumpet Artwork Questions and Answers Q: If I Play Jericho's Trumpet on Daniel, Inside Babylon, does Daniel's Ability make the Opponent Lose more than 2 Points? A: No. Daniel's triggered Ability still makes the Opponent Lose exactly 2 Points. The +2 Strength instead increases Daniel's Challenge Damage, including the Bible Points from a successful direct Challenge. Q: What happens if I Play two Jericho's Trumpets on the same Being? A: The two separate +2 Strength modifiers stack, Giving that Being +4 Strength total. Q: Can Jericho's Trumpet make a 0-Strength Being capable of dealing Challenge Damage? A: Yes. A Being with 0 Printed Strength that receives +2 Strength now has 2 Strength and can deal 2 Damage when it Challenges. Q: If the buffed Being is later Humbled, what happens? A: Humble removes the direct +2 Strength modifier granted by Jericho's Trumpet. Q: If Jericho's Trumpet's Controller later leaves the source Event in Exile, does the +2 Strength disappear? A: No. The Event has already resolved and granted the modifier. The Event Verse entering Exile doesn't end the completed effect. - Rise To The Top – Common Israel Event | Bible TCG
Rise To The Top Base Art Genesis Set Card 111/250 Rise To The Top is a Common Event from the Israel Age, costing 2 Faith. It Restores 5 Hope to Target Being. The Bible Story Behind Rise To The Top Esther was a Jewish orphan raised by Mordecai in the Persian Empire. She entered the royal household through the search for a new queen and received favor before Ahasuerus. Her position eventually gave her access to the king when Haman's decree threatened the Jewish people, turning a place of personal honor into a moment of danger and responsibility. When Haman obtained authority to destroy the Jews throughout the Persian Empire, Esther suddenly faced the purpose behind her position. Approaching the king without being summoned could bring death, but remaining silent wouldn't guarantee her safety. Rise To The Top therefore presents a woman raised into influence and then called to risk that position for the preservation of her people. Esther 4:14 says: "[...] and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" Rise To The Top Full Art Mordecai reminded Esther that deliverance for the Jews didn't depend entirely upon her, because God's covenant purpose couldn't be destroyed by Haman's decree. Yet Esther remained responsible for the opportunity placed before her. Her royal position wasn't merely a personal blessing, but a stewardship through which she could serve the people God had appointed to preserve. Esther approached an earthly throne at the risk of her own life, but Jesus Christ came from the highest glory and willingly entered death to save His people. He didn't merely place His position in danger; He humbled Himself, took upon Him the form of a servant, and gave His life upon the cross for sinners. After bearing our sins and fulfilling the law, Jesus rose from the dead and was exalted at the right hand of God. He now intercedes for the church with an authority no earthly queen could possess. Our Deliverer doesn't plead before an uncertain king, because He Himself is the risen Lord whose sacrifice has already secured our acceptance. Rise To The Top Pure Art Rise To The Top Bible TCG Strategy Rise To The Top is a strong Hope Restoration Event that can keep an important Being on the Storyline. Restoring 5 Hope can save a damaged Being, help it survive future Challenges, or keep a key support Being active longer. Because it Targets any Being, it can Target a Friendly Being or an Enemy Being. Most of the time, you'll use it on a Friendly Being you want to preserve. Synergies Hope Restoration: Rise To The Top Restores 5 Hope to Target Being. Protecting Key Beings: Use it to keep an important Friendly Being from being Exiled. Challenge Recovery: Restore Hope after a Being survives Damage so it can remain useful in later Turns. Rise To The Top Artwork Questions and Answers Q: Can I use Rise To The Top on an Enemy Being with Patience to make it weaker? A: Potentially. If Rise To The Top removes all of that Being's Damage, it's no longer damaged and its Patience stops applying. Q: If a Being has 2 Damage, what does Restore 5 Hope actually do? A: It removes the 2 Damage that exists. The unused 3 Restoration doesn't become extra Hope. Q: Does Rise To The Top remove Strength or Hope modifiers? A: No. Restore removes Damage. It doesn't undo buffs, debuffs, or Set effects. Q: Can Rise To The Top save a Being whose Current Hope has already reached 0 or less? A: No. Once the relevant Check causes that Being to be Exiled, you can't Restore it afterward as though it were still on the Storyline. Q: What happens if I Restore Jonah after he has survived several Damage instances? A: You can remove his accumulated Damage and help him stay alive for future Damage-to-Draw triggers. The Draws he already earned are unaffected. Previous Card: Flock Sheep Next Card: Ferocious Bear Explore Israel Age Cards Explore All Genesis Set Cards
- Bloody Jawbone – Uncommon Israel Event | Bible TCG
Bloody Jawbone Base Art Genesis Set Card 118/250 Bloody Jawbone is an Uncommon Event from the Israel Age, costing 4 Faith. It deals 4 Damage to Target Enemy Being, then lets you Draw a Verse. The Bible Story Behind Bloody Jawbone The men of Judah bound Samson and delivered him to the Philistines, hoping to protect themselves from further conflict. As the enemy approached him with shouting, the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon Samson, and the cords around his arms broke as easily as flax burned by fire. Samson found the fresh jawbone of an ass, took it into his hand, and used it to strike down a thousand Philistine men. The weapon possessed no military value by itself, yet God enabled Samson to accomplish an overwhelming victory through it. Bloody Jawbone therefore presents an ordinary and despised object becoming powerful in the hand of Israel's appointed deliverer. Judges 15:15 says: "And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith." Bloody Jawbone Full Art Samson named the place Ramath-lehi, meaning the lifting up of the jawbone, because the victory had been accomplished through that unlikely instrument. Yet right afterward, his great thirst revealed that he remained a dependent man. The warrior who defeated a thousand enemies still needed God to open a hollow place and provide water to preserve his life. Samson's unlikely weapon reminds us that God often accomplishes His greatest purposes through what the world considers foolish and weak. The cross of Jesus Christ appeared shameful, powerless, and defeated in the eyes of men. Yet through that instrument of death, the Son of God conquered sin, spoiled spiritual powers, and secured everlasting redemption. Unlike Samson, Jesus didn't destroy His enemies by taking their lives. He gave His own life for rebels and sinners, bearing our guilt beneath the judgment of God. Christ fulfilled the law, died upon the cross, and rose again so that the apparent place of defeat became the everlasting sign of His complete victory. Bloody Jawbone Pure Art Bloody Jawbone Bible TCG Strategy Bloody Jawbone is a strong removal Event that also replaces itself in your Hand. It can deal 4 Damage to a Target Enemy Being, helping Exile many mid-sized threats or finish off a damaged one. After dealing Damage, you Draw a Verse, which helps you keep resources while answering an Enemy Being. Synergies Targeted Removal: Bloody Jawbone deals 4 Damage to Target Enemy Being. Card Draw: After dealing Damage, Bloody Jawbone lets you Draw a Verse. Pray Synergy: Since Bloody Jawbone is an Event that deals Damage, Beings with Pray can increase its Damage. Bloody Jawbone Artwork Questions and Answers Q: If the Target's Anointing ignores all 4 Damage, do I still Draw a Verse? A: Yes. Bloody Jawbone continues resolving after the Damage instruction. Preventing the Damage doesn't remove the later Draw instruction. Q: What if the Target is Eternal and therefore takes no Damage? A: You still Draw after resolving the Damage instruction. Eternal prevents the Damage, not the rest of the Event. Q: Can Bloody Jawbone finish a Being whose Hope was Set to 1 by Goliath's Taunts? A: Yes. Unless the Damage is prevented, 4 Damage is more than enough to reduce that Being's Current Hope to 0 or less. Q: What happens if the 4 Damage Exiles the Enemy Being? A: The Being enters Exile as normal, and Bloody Jawbone then continues to its Draw instruction. Q: Does Solomon's Pray +2 turn Bloody Jawbone into 6 Damage while keeping the Draw at one Verse? A: Yes. Pray increases only the Event's Damage. Bloody Jawbone still Draws exactly one Verse. - Flock Sheep – Uncommon Israel Cattle | Bible TCG
Flock Sheep Base Art Genesis Set Card 110/250 Flock Sheep is an Uncommon Cattle Being from the Israel Age, costing 2 Faith with 0 Strength, 1 Hope, 0 Reach, and 1 Move. Its Prophecy Ability Creates two David's Cattle Tokens. The Bible Story Behind Flock Sheep David understood the dependence of sheep because he had spent years caring for his father's flock. Sheep needed a shepherd to locate food, find safe water, protect them from predators, and lead them away from dangerous paths. In Psalm 23, David used this familiar relationship to describe the personal care and faithful guidance of the Lord. Green pastures supplied food, while still waters provided a safe place to drink and recover. The shepherd didn't merely point toward provision and leave the sheep to find it themselves. Flock Sheep therefore presents a dependent flock being led into peace, nourishment, and rest by the one responsible for its care. Psalm 23:2 says: "He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters." Flock Sheep Full Art David's confidence rested upon the identity of his Shepherd rather than the ease of the journey. The same psalm includes dark valleys, enemies, and the shadow of death, yet none of them could remove the Lord's presence. The Shepherd who provided rest also remained near whenever the path became dangerous. Jesus Christ revealed Himself as the Good Shepherd promised throughout Israel's Scriptures. Unlike careless shepherds who used the flock for themselves, Jesus knew His sheep, called them by name, and laid down His own life to save them from sin and death. At the cross, the Shepherd bore our sins, fulfilled the law, and rose again so that believing Jews and Gentiles could be joined by one Spirit into one body. By faith in the Gospel, the church receives everything Christ has secured for His body and bride, while Israel will be gathered and brought into her promised covenant blessings when the nation receives Jesus as her Messiah at His second coming. Flock Sheep Pure Art Flock Sheep Bible TCG Strategy Flock Sheep is a strong Storyline-building Being for Cattle Decks. Even though Flock Sheep has low Stats and can't Challenge with 0 Reach, its value comes from Creating two David's Cattle Tokens when it's Created. This gives you multiple Cattle from one Play, helping you build a wide Storyline and set up Cattle buffs. Synergies Token Creation: Flock Sheep Creates two David's Cattle Tokens when it's Created. Wide Cattle Storyline: Flock Sheep helps you build multiple Cattle onto the Storyline quickly. Buff Setup: Creating multiple Cattle works well with effects that increase the Strength or Hope of nearby Cattle. Flock Sheep Artwork Questions and Answers Q: What happens if Lost Lamb is already on my Storyline when Flock Sheep Creates two David's Cattle Tokens? A: Each David's Cattle Token is another Friendly Cattle, so each receives Lost Lamb's ongoing +1 Strength bonus. Q: What if Hungry Cattle is also active? A: Each David's Cattle Token can also receive Hungry Cattle's +1 Strength and +1 Hope, making the two small Tokens substantially stronger. Q: Can I choose where the two David's Cattle Tokens are Created? A: Yes. Create them in eligible open Slots, which means you can position them deliberately around Cattle that care about adjacency. Q: What if I have only one open Slot? A: Create as many of the instructed Tokens as possible, so only one David's Cattle Token is Created. Q: Can Flock Sheep itself Challenge after another effect increases its Reach? A: Yes. Its printed Reach is 0, but if another effect increases its Reach to at least 1, it can Challenge normally on a Turn when it's otherwise allowed to Interact. - Baal's Defeat – Rare Israel Event | Bible TCG
Baal's Defeat Base Art Genesis Set Card 117/250 Baal's Defeat is a Rare Event from the Israel Age, costing 4 Faith. Roll a die, then deal that much Damage to all Enemy Beings. The Bible Story Behind Baal's Defeat During the reign of Ahab and Jezebel, the worship of Baal spread throughout Israel and drew the nation away from the Lord. Elijah gathered the people and the prophets of Baal upon Mount Carmel, challenging Israel to stop wavering between two opinions. The God who answered by fire would be shown openly as the true God. The prophets of Baal cried aloud, leaped upon their altar, and cut themselves from morning until evening, but no voice answered them. Elijah then repaired the broken altar of the Lord, placed the sacrifice upon it, and soaked everything with water. When he prayed, fire fell from heaven and consumed the sacrifice, the wood, the stones, the dust, and the water within the trench. 1 Kings 18:40 says: "And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there." Baal's Defeat Full Art After the people fell upon their faces and confessed that the Lord alone is God, Elijah commanded that the false prophets be seized. Their judgment showed that leading Israel into idolatry wasn't a harmless religious difference, but rebellion against the covenant God who had delivered and preserved the nation. The silence of Baal revealed the emptiness of every idol mankind trusts in place of God. Wealth, power, religion, and human wisdom can't answer the guilt of sin or give everlasting life. Jesus Christ alone revealed the Father perfectly and showed divine authority through His sinless life, mighty works, death, and resurrection. At the cross, Jesus didn't call judgment down upon guilty sinners; He willingly received judgment in their place. He bore our sins, fulfilled the law, and rose again, destroying the works of the devil and exposing the weakness of every power opposed to God. The living sacrifice was accepted, and the resurrection became God's public declaration that Jesus Christ is Lord. Baal's Defeat Pure Art Baal's Defeat Bible TCG Strategy Baal's Defeat is a powerful but unpredictable Storyline Damage Event. The die Roll determines how much Damage all Enemy Beings take, which means the result can range from a small sweep to a major Storyline clear. Because it affects all Enemy Beings and doesn't Target, Baal's Defeat can also Damage Enemy Beings with Darkness. Synergies Storyline Damage: Baal's Defeat can deal Damage to every Enemy Being at once. High Roll: A strong die Roll can Exile many Enemy Beings in one Play. Pray Synergy: Since Baal's Defeat is an Event that deals Damage, Beings with Pray can increase its Damage. Baal's Defeat 1611 Art Questions and Answers Q: If I Roll a 1 while Solomon, Wise Request is active, how much Damage does Baal's Defeat deal? A: Solomon's Pray +2 increases the Event Damage from 1 to 3 against every Enemy Being. Q: What if I Roll a 6 with Solomon active? A: Baal's Defeat deals 8 Damage to every Enemy Being. Q: Does Pray change the die Roll itself? A: No. Roll the die normally. Pray increases the Damage produced by the Event after the Roll determines its base amount. Q: What happens if different Enemy Beings have different amounts of Damage already on them? A: Apply the same Baal's Defeat Damage to each affected Being, then determine each Being's Current Hope separately. Some may survive while others are Exiled. Baal's Defeat Artwork Q: Why can Baal's Defeat become more reliable after Moses, Law Of God has weakened the Enemy Storyline? A: Moses reduces Enemy Hope by 1 while active. That means even a modest Baal's Defeat Roll may become enough to Exile Beings that otherwise would have survived. - Ambush Viper – Common Church Dragon | Bible TCG
Ambush Viper Base Art Genesis Set Card 156/250 Ambush Viper is a Common Dragon Being from the Church Age, costing 1 Faith with 1 Strength, 1 Hope, 1 Reach, and 0 Move. It has Zeal, allowing it to Challenge immediately. The Bible Story Behind Ambush Viper After surviving a violent shipwreck, Paul and the other passengers reached the island of Melita. The islanders received them kindly, kindled a fire against the cold and rain, and helped care for the exhausted travelers. Although Paul was a prisoner, he immediately joined the work by gathering sticks for the fire. When Paul placed the bundle on the flames, a viper came out from the heat and fastened itself to his hand. The islanders recognized the creature and expected Paul to swell or suddenly fall dead, assuming that divine vengeance had reached a murderer who escaped the sea. Ambush Viper therefore presents a hidden danger, striking suddenly while Paul continued faithfully serving after the storm. Acts 28:3 says: "And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand." Ambush Viper Full Art Paul shook the creature into the fire and suffered no harm. After watching him for a long time, the islanders abandoned their first conclusion and began forming an equally mistaken belief that he was a god. The miracle didn't make Paul divine; it confirmed that the risen Christ was preserving His apostolic witness until his appointed ministry in Rome was completed. From the serpent in Eden onward, Scripture associates the serpent with deception, sin, and death. Jesus Christ entered the world as the promised seed who would crush the serpent's head. Through His death upon the cross and His bodily resurrection, Christ defeated the power of sin, spoiled spiritual principalities, and removed death's final victory over everyone who believes. Paul's survival shouldn't be turned into a promise that every Christian will be unharmed by venom, illness, persecution, or physical danger. Paul himself experienced beatings, imprisonment, weakness, and eventual death. The greater truth is that no attack could prevent the Lord from completing His purpose through Paul or stop the Gospel from reaching the Gentile world. Ambush Viper Pure Art Ambush Viper Bible TCG Strategy Ambush Viper is a fast low-Cost Dragon that can act the Turn it's Created. Zeal lets it Challenge immediately, making it useful for removing small Enemy Beings or applying early pressure. Because Ambush Viper has 0 Move, placement matters. It can Challenge immediately, but it can't reposition normally unless another effect helps it Move. Synergies Immediate Challenge: Zeal lets Ambush Viper Challenge immediately when it's Created. Immediate Pressure: Living Waters can strengthen Ambush Viper before its first Challenge. Zeal lets it use that temporary bonus even during the Turn it was Created. Early Pressure: With 1 Faith and Zeal, Ambush Viper can Interact quickly in the early Game. Ambush Viper Artwork Questions and Answers Q: What happens if I Play Rise Up And Walk on Ambush Viper before using Zeal? A: Ambush Viper becomes 3 Strength and 3 Hope, then can use Zeal to Challenge immediately with those improved Stats. Q: Can Tongues Of Fire turn Ambush Viper into a surprise direct threat? A: Yes. Its Strength becomes 5 for that Turn, so an open direct Challenge can produce 5 Bible Points. Q: Does 0 Move prevent Ambush Viper from Challenging? A: No. Move and Reach are separate Stats. Its 1 Reach still allows it to Challenge the directly opposing position when legal. Q: What happens if Ambush Viper is Humbled before it uses Zeal? A: Zeal is Canceled, so it normally loses permission to Challenge during the Turn it was just Created. Q: If Ambush Viper survives its first Turn, can it Challenge normally later without Zeal? A: Yes. Zeal only matters for immediate Challenge permission. On later Turns, it can Challenge under the normal rules. - Divided Crowd – Uncommon Gospel Event | Bible TCG
Divided Crowd Base Art Genesis Set Card 145/250 Divided Crowd is an Uncommon Event from the Gospel Age, costing 5 Faith. It deals 2 Damage to all Enemy Beings and Restores 3 Hope to all Friendly Beings. The Bible Story Behind Divided Crowd During the Feast of Tabernacles, Jerusalem was filled with quiet debate about Jesus. Some people recognized His goodness and wondered whether He might truly be the promised Christ, while others repeated the accusations of the religious leaders. The same words and works that drew some people toward Him caused others to resist and condemn Him. Many were afraid to speak openly because the rulers had already created an atmosphere of hostility around Jesus. Some judged Him by rumors, while others questioned His birthplace or rejected Him without honestly examining His teaching. Divided Crowd therefore presents a nation confronted by its Messiah but unable to reach agreement concerning His identity. John 7:12 says: "And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people." Divided Crowd Full Art The division didn't exist because Jesus was unclear or inconsistent. His perfect character, authoritative teaching, and mighty works exposed what people already loved within their hearts. Those willing to receive truth were drawn toward His light, while those determined to protect unbelief searched for reasons to reject Him. Calling Jesus merely a good man doesn't fully confess who He is. He is the eternal Son of God, the promised King of Israel, and the only Saviour of mankind. His claims leave no honest middle position, because He spoke and acted with the authority belonging to God Himself. The disagreement surrounding Jesus eventually reached its greatest expression at the cross. Men rejected and crucified Him, but God raised Him from the dead and declared Him to be Lord. Through His death, burial, and resurrection, Christ provided salvation for everyone who stops relying upon human opinion and believes the Gospel of His finished work. Divided Crowd Pure Art Divided Crowd Bible TCG Strategy Divided Crowd is a powerful swing Event. It weakens the Enemy Storyline and then recovers your own Storyline. The 2 Damage can Exile small Enemy Beings or soften larger ones, while the 3 Hope Restoration can help your Friendly Beings survive future Damage. The Damage sentence and its Check finish before the Restoration sentence. Resolve the whole Event before queued triggers. A Game-ending condition at the Damage check prevents the later Restoration. Synergies Enemy Storyline Damage: Divided Crowd deals 2 Damage to all Enemy Beings. Friendly Storyline Recovery: It Restores 3 Hope to all Friendly Beings. Pray Synergy: Since Divided Crowd is an Event that deals Damage, Beings with Pray can increase its Damage. Divided Crowd Artwork Questions and Answers Q: If Solomon, Wise Request is active, what changes about Divided Crowd? A: Solomon's Pray +2 increases the Enemy Storyline Damage from 2 to 4. The 3 Hope Restoration to your Friendly Beings doesn't change. Q: Can one Divided Crowd both Exile Enemy Beings and activate Nicodemus several times? A: Yes. Its Damage can Exile Enemy Beings while its separate Restoration effect can Restore multiple Friendly Beings and trigger Nicodemus for each one actually Restored. Q: Does Divided Crowd Target the Enemy Beings it Damages? A: No. It affects all Enemy Beings as a group. Q: What happens if its Restoration fully heals one of my Patience Beings? A: That Being stops receiving its Patience benefit because it's no longer damaged. Q: Why might I prefer Divided Crowd over a pure board-clear Event when my own Storyline is damaged? A: It weakens the Enemy Storyline, then Restores your Friendly Beings in a separate sentence. The Damage and its Check happen first; if the Game continues, apply Restoration. The benefit affects both sides of the Storyline, but the two sentences aren't simultaneous. - Divine Dove – Uncommon Church Fowl | Bible TCG
Divine Dove Base Art Genesis Set Card 154/250 Divine Dove is an Uncommon Fowl Being from the Church Age, costing 1 Faith with 1 Strength, 1 Hope, 1 Reach, and 1 Move. It has Anointing, allowing it to ignore the first Damage it would take. The Bible Story Behind Divine Dove Before ascending into heaven, Jesus commanded His disciples to remain in Jerusalem until they received the promise of the Father. On the day of Pentecost, they were gathered together when that promise was openly fulfilled. The risen Christ empowered His witnesses for the testimony that would spread beyond Jerusalem. The Spirit had descended upon Jesus like a dove at His baptism, identifying Him publicly as the anointed Son of God. In Acts, however, His coming was announced by the sound of a rushing mighty wind that filled the entire house. Divine Dove therefore presents the Holy Ghost coming from heaven to dwell within and empower those who belonged to Jesus Christ. Acts 2:2 says: "And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting." Divine Dove Full Art This event occurred in Jerusalem among Jewish disciples during one of Israel's appointed feasts, but it began a transition that would reach far beyond Jerusalem. The apostles first testified to Israel concerning the risen Messiah, and Acts would gradually show the same Spirit given to Samaritans and Gentiles. God was revealing that His church would be gathered through faith in Christ from every nation rather than formed through submission to Israel's law. The coming of the Holy Ghost was possible because Jesus had completed redemption. Christ bore our sins, died, was buried, rose again, and returned to the Father. The ascended Lord then sent the Spirit to seal believers, join them to His body, and make the church His dwelling place upon the earth. The Spirit doesn't temporarily visit believers, as He sometimes did during Israel's history. Everyone today who believes the Gospel is sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise and baptized into one body, whether Jew or Gentile. The later apostles' letters reveal the full meaning of Pentecost: Christ lives within His church, and every member shares the same Spirit and heavenly calling. Divine Dove Pure Art Divine Dove Bible TCG Strategy Divine Dove is a small but protected early Being. Anointing helps it survive the first Damage it would take, making it harder to remove than its 1 Hope might suggest. It fits low-Cost strategies that need an early Blocker or a Being that can make safer Challenges once it's allowed to Interact. Synergies Anointing Protection: Divine Dove ignores the first Damage it would take. Staying Power: Rise Up And Walk can Give Divine Dove extra Strength and Hope. Those bonuses remain after its Anointing has prevented one Damage instance. Early Storyline Presence: Divine Dove gives you a low-Cost Being that can hold a Slot early. Divine Dove Artwork Questions and Answers Q: Can Divine Dove survive New Life In Christ despite having only 1 Hope? A: Yes, if its Anointing is still unused. Anointing ignores the 2 Damage instance entirely and is then used. Q: After Anointing saves Divine Dove, what is its Current Hope? A: It remains at 1 Current Hope because it took no Damage. Q: What happens if Goliath's Taunts Sets Divine Dove's Hope to 1? A: Set removes earlier direct Hope modifiers and Damage, then Sets the underlying Hope to 1. An otherwise unmodified Divine Dove already has 1 Hope. Its Anointing state doesn't change: unused Anointing remains unused, and used Anointing stays used. Q: Can direct Exile remove Divine Dove without first using its Anointing? A: Yes. Anointing only interacts with Damage, so an Exile effect can remove Divine Dove while its Anointing is still unused. - Herod, Unjust Revenge – Uncommon Gospel King | Bible TCG
Herod, Unjust Revenge Base Art Genesis Set Card 148/250 Herod, Unjust Revenge is an Uncommon King Being from the Gospel Age, costing 6 Faith with 6 Strength, 4 Hope, 5 Reach, and 4 Move. His Prophecy Ability deals 3 Damage to Target Enemy Being. The Bible Story Behind Herod, Unjust Revenge When the wise men arrived in Jerusalem asking for the newborn King of the Jews, Herod immediately viewed the child as a threat to his throne. He secretly learned when the star had appeared and sent the wise men to Bethlehem, pretending that he also desired to worship Jesus. Behind his respectful words was a plan to locate and destroy Israel's promised King. God warned the wise men not to return to Herod and directed Joseph to take Mary and Jesus into Egypt. When Herod realized that the wise men had departed another way, his fear turned into murderous anger. Herod, Unjust Revenge therefore presents an insecure ruler attacking innocent children because he couldn't reach the One whose kingdom he feared. Matthew 2:16 says: "Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, [...]" Herod, Unjust Revenge Full Art Herod ordered the death of the young boys in Bethlehem and its surrounding regions according to the time he had learned from the wise men. His command brought terrible grief to innocent families, yet it couldn't destroy Jesus or interrupt God's promise. The ruler who appeared powerful could only act within the limits permitted by the sovereign God who preserved His Son. Herod attempted to preserve his kingdom by taking the lives of others, but Jesus established His kingdom by willingly giving His own life. The child preserved in Egypt later returned, grew in perfect obedience, and fulfilled everything written concerning Him. No sword could take His life before the appointed hour, because He had come to offer Himself according to the Father's purpose. At the cross, rulers again united against Jesus and believed they had finally removed Him. Yet Christ bore our sins willingly, was buried, and rose again the third day. Herod's violence couldn't stop His arrival, and the combined power of religious and political authorities couldn't prevent His resurrection or overthrow His everlasting reign. Herod, Unjust Revenge Pure Art Herod, Unjust Revenge Bible TCG Strategy Herod, Unjust Revenge is a strong Being with immediate removal pressure. When he is Created, his Prophecy Ability can deal 3 Damage to Target Enemy Being, helping remove a small threat or weaken a larger one. After his Prophecy resolves, Herod remains a major threat with 6 Strength and 5 Reach. Synergies Immediate Damage: Herod deals 3 Damage to Target Enemy Being when he is Created. High Strength: With 6 Strength, Herod can threaten many Enemy Beings in Challenges. Prophecy Reuse: Signs And Wonders can Return a legal Friendly Herod, Unjust Revenge to its Owner's Hand. Playing it again later Creates a new Being and records a new Prophecy. Herod, Unjust Revenge Artwork Questions and Answers Q: Can Herod's Prophecy be used mainly to remove an Enemy Being's Anointing rather than to Exile it? A: Yes. If the Target's unused Anointing ignores the 3 Damage, that Anointing is spent, potentially leaving the Being vulnerable to a later Damage source. Q: Does Pray increase Herod's Prophecy Damage? A: No. Herod is a Being, so his Prophecy Damage isn't Event Damage. Q: What happens if I Return Herod to my Hand and Play him again later? A: He is Created again, so his Prophecy can deal another 3 Damage to a legal Enemy Being. Q: Can Herod's Prophecy Damage an Eternal Being? A: No. Eternal prevents the Damage. Q: Why is Herod still valuable if his Prophecy doesn't Exile its Target? A: He combines immediate Damage with a large 6-Strength, 5-Reach body. The Prophecy can soften a threat before Herod begins controlling the Storyline on later Turns. - Cornelius, First Gentile – Common Church Soldier | Bible TCG
Cornelius, First Gentile Base Art Genesis Set Card 165/250 Cornelius, First Gentile is a Common Soldier Being from the Church Age, costing 3 Faith with 3 Strength, 1 Hope, 2 Reach, and 3 Move. He has Anointing, allowing him to ignore the first Damage he would take. The Bible Story Behind Cornelius, First Gentile Cornelius was a Roman centurion living in Caesarea who feared God, gave generously, and prayed continually. Though respected and devout, his good works couldn't save him or give him the completed knowledge of Jesus Christ. God therefore directed him to send for Peter, who would speak the words through which he and his household could be saved. Before Peter arrived, the Lord gave him a vision that prepared him to enter a Gentile home without treating its occupants as ceremonially unclean. Peter began to understand that God was showing him not to call any person common or unclean. Cornelius, First Gentile therefore presents the first recorded uncircumcised Gentile household in Acts to receive the Holy Ghost openly in this manner, marking a major turning point as the Gospel reached the nations. Acts 10:45 says: "And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost." Cornelius, First Gentile Full Art Peter preached the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus and declared that everyone who believes in Him receives remission of sins. While he was still speaking, the Holy Ghost fell upon all who heard the Word. The Jewish believers were astonished because God gave these Gentiles the same heavenly gift without first requiring circumcision or conversion into Israel's covenant system. The experience in Cornelius's house confirmed that salvation rested upon faith in Jesus Christ rather than the works of the law. Cornelius wasn't saved because of his prayers, military position, or generosity, but because he believed the message concerning the crucified and risen Saviour. God sealed him with the Holy Ghost immediately, providing visible proof that the Gentiles had been received through grace. Acts shows the Gospel moving from Jerusalem to the nations, while the apostles' letters reveal believing Jews and Gentiles joined by one Spirit into one body. By faith in the Gospel, the church receives everything Jesus Christ has secured for His body and bride, while Israel will enjoy her promised blessings when the nation receives Him as her Messiah and King at His second coming. Cornelius, First Gentile Pure Art Cornelius, First Gentile Bible TCG Strategy Cornelius, First Gentile combines 3 Strength with protection from one Damage instance. Although he has only 1 Hope, unused Anointing can let him survive a Challenge while still dealing his own Damage. This makes him useful in Decks that want combat pressure without immediately losing a fragile attacker. Synergies Anointing Protection: Cornelius ignores the first Damage he would take. Staying Power: Rise Up And Walk can Give Cornelius, First Gentile extra Strength and Hope. Those bonuses remain after its Anointing has prevented one Damage instance. Early Challenge Pressure: With 3 Strength, Cornelius can threaten many early Enemy Beings. Cornelius, First Gentile Artwork Questions and Answers Q: What happens if Moses, Law Of God enters while Cornelius has only his printed 1 Hope? A: An opposing Moses, Law Of God continuously reduces Cornelius's Hope by 1. With no other modifiers, that takes his 1 Hope to 0, causing Exile at the Check. No Damage occurs, so Anointing can't prevent it. Q: Can Goliath's Taunts remove Cornelius's Anointing? A: No. Set removes old direct Hope modifiers and all Damage, then Sets the underlying Hope to 1. Anointing is unchanged. An otherwise unmodified Cornelius already has 1 Hope, but external Hope effects continue to apply. Q: If Cornelius Challenges a 10-Strength Being while his Anointing is unused, can he survive? A: His Anointing can ignore that first Challenge Damage instance entirely. Cornelius still deals his own 3 Damage at the same time. Q: What if Cornelius takes a tiny 1-Damage hit before that Challenge? A: His Anointing is spent on the smaller Damage instance, leaving him vulnerable during the later Challenge. Q: Why is Cornelius more vulnerable to non-Damage control than his Anointing may make him appear? A: His protection only handles one Damage instance. Stat reduction, Humble, direct Exile, and other non-Damage effects can bypass it. - Saul, Strict Pharisee – Uncommon Church Chief | Bible TCG
Saul, Strict Pharisee Base Art Genesis Set Card 173/250 Saul, Strict Pharisee is an Uncommon Chief Being from the Church Age, costing 6 Faith with 7 Strength, 4 Hope, 4 Reach, and 3 Move. His Prophecy Ability Gives Fear to Target Enemy Being. The Bible Story Behind Saul, Strict Pharisee Saul was a Jew of the tribe of Benjamin, trained under Gamaliel and deeply committed to the traditions of his fathers. He believed that strict devotion to the law made him righteous and that the growing testimony concerning Jesus threatened Israel's faith. His religious zeal was sincere, but it was directed against the very Messiah whom the law and prophets had promised. After consenting to Stephen's death, Saul continued attacking the believers in Jerusalem. He entered houses, dragged away men and women, and committed them to prison. Saul, Strict Pharisee therefore presents a respected religious leader using his authority and knowledge of the law to persecute the church of Jesus Christ. Acts 9:1 says: "And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest," Saul, Strict Pharisee Full Art Saul requested letters authorizing him to arrest believers in Damascus and bring them bound to Jerusalem. He believed he was defending God, yet Jesus later declared that Saul was personally persecuting Him by attacking His disciples. The risen Lord identified Himself so completely with His church that violence against its members was violence against Christ Himself. On the road to Damascus, the risen Jesus confronted Saul with a light from heaven and called him by name. Saul's ancestry, education, zeal, and outward obedience couldn't prepare him for the glory of the Saviour he had rejected. The persecutor was stopped not because he had earned mercy, but because Jesus Christ chose to reveal the exceeding riches of His grace through him. Saul is also called Paul in Acts 13:9. The name change in the narrative accompanies the Gentile mission. His transformed purpose is striking: the persecutor became a witness to the grace of the Saviour he had opposed. Saul, Strict Pharisee Pure Art Saul, Strict Pharisee Bible TCG Strategy Saul, Strict Pharisee is a powerful Being that combines high Strength with immediate control. When he is Created, he can Give Fear to Target Enemy Being, stopping that Being from Interacting through the end of its Owner's next Turn. This can shut down an important Enemy Being while Saul uses his 7 Strength to pressure the Storyline. Synergies Fear Control: Saul can stop Target Enemy Being from Interacting through the end of its Owner's next Turn. High Strength: With 7 Strength, Saul can threaten major Damage in Challenges. Prophecy Reuse: Signs And Wonders can Return a legal Friendly Saul, Strict Pharisee to its Owner's Hand. Playing it again later Creates a new Being and records a new Prophecy. Saul, Strict Pharisee Artwork Questions and Answers Q: What kinds of Enemy Beings are the best Fear Targets for Saul? A: Beings whose value depends heavily on Moving or Challenging, especially Beings with Zeal, Abundance, high Strength, or important positioning goals. Q: What happens if Saul Fears a damaged Peter, Jewish Apostle? A: Peter still has Protect and Abundance from Patience, but Fear prevents him from using the Challenges that Abundance would otherwise allow. His Protect remains active because Fear doesn't Cancel Abilities. Q: Can Fear shut down a Being with Abundance for both of its potential Challenges? A: Yes. If the Being can't Interact, it can't Challenge at all, so Abundance can't be used. Q: Does Fear reduce the Strength of the affected Being? A: No. Its Stats stay the same. Q: Why doesn't Fearing a Being necessarily open its lane for Saul's own direct Challenge? A: Fear doesn't stop Blocking. The Feared Being remains in its Slot and can still Block normally.
